Any links where we can get this?

A friend got it online somewhere, probably from a torrent site, and he burned me a copy. Just search around, I'm sure it's not hard to find and it's well worth it!

I kinda wished her "Apocalyptic Beast" seen in the CoD art piece was actually one of the bosses for the game. I kinda thought it might've been, at first. I said to myself, "Holy crap, they going to draw ties to the book of Revelations, making Dracula the Anti-Christ and stuff with this game?". That would've been interesting.

as opposed to, uh, this

& this

I'd call these pretty creative.

See, thing is, LoS doesnt go by "lets see what the craziest enemy we can come up with is!" It goes by a more realistic look. And the enemies in the areas, match the theme of the areas. So within that realistic limitation, Id say they did alright. And in some cases, where they didnt go all out with design, they instead did so in idea itself. I mean come on. Zombies that throw their heads at you? I thought that was pretty funny.

And mind you, other of the enemies are actually standard fare Castlevania enemies, like Werewolves, Wargs, Ghouls, Possessed Armors, and Zombies.

I agree that those are some pretty cool designs (which they should expand upon if they're smart), but there was nothing that really "wowed" me.. I know that's the sole reason why they decided to include those TITANS to add WOW! factor to the game but the idea backfired & it just didn't work for me.

maybe the "realistic look" might count against them in the sequel(s), maybe it won't, who knows, just my opinion yadda yadda

realistic? but the zombies had a ton of extra arm appendages wrapped around them and the spiders had toenails.
i think they were actually trying to pull off odd twists for the enemies. i mean we wouldn't have gotten headless zombies and creepin' coffins otherwise and those were kinda the best designs in the game.

plus the deadly toy and knight pan remind me too much of dmc4 enemies. ;_;

If the game had a final showdown with Dracula instead of Satan I feel like I would appreciate the bestiary more. That's probably my biggest problem with this new direction, so far nothing really has any connection to Dracula whatsoever, Satan is the new big bad guy.

I just wanna play a game about Belmonts hunting down Dracula. Maybe with some Bloody Tears and some pot roast hidden in the walls, and candles to whip, and, and.....

:(

I wouldnt quite call Satan the new bad guy. I mean, the ending seems to imply that after Gabe defeated him, he gathered power and shit until the epilogue, when he is ready to strike again. And not to mention Gabe DOES become Dracula. And we dont know when or how, but that upcoming DLC will apparently shed light on the matter. So Dracula might end up the actual main villain of any future Alternatevania games.

Realistic presentation. Movielike presentation. Realistic in the LotR sense.

All because the setting is fantasy does not mean it cannot look realistic.

But, realistic is open to interpretation, because what's real "to you" is "real". Of course, sometimes movielike and realistic presentation contradicts each other, because in a lot of cases, many movies are far from "realistic", even those that are based in the non-fiction REAL world.

Point in case, you know what I mean by realistic. Lets leave it at that.

I think any and everything has the ability to be rendered "realistically", even the older CV monster designs. If anything, I'd say some of LoS's monster designs take more stylish liberties. It would be like, say, someone makes a horror movie about werewolves and instead of depicting the werewolf like in American Werewolf of London, or The Howling, they design it to have two pairs of arms and an exposed razor-back spine. That would be a more stylish take on a classic monster. The zombies in this game, in particular, ooze style. They don't look like your average shambling rotting corpse.

Yeah, I don't think that presentation would really stop them from coming up with really neat enemy ideas.
I thought SoTN handled enemies pretty well in its presentation. Most enemies fit where they were supposed to, and there were even a handful of unique enemies that only appeared in an area or two. The bosses oozed tons of atmosphere (best example being Legion, plus it made sense being the catacombs and all).

To be honest, I hated that Dracula is the antichrist Bullshit they introduced in Dawn of Sorrow. It was completely unnecessary.

Yeah, I hated that too.  DoS was such an unnecessary game.  They should have just stopped Soma's story at the end of AoS.  Soma even says: "Somewhere inside of me, Dracula's powers sleep.  It isn't evil anymore, but it has changed my life."  This puts forth that he was truly free from the Chaos and likely wouldn't have to worry about it.  DoS contradicts this by stating that only Soma or someone with similar powers can succeed Dracula and that Dracula is the Devil incarnate.  I prefer the idea that Soma was free when he defeated the Chaos.

Dracula should only be the most powerful vampire at most.  This is why I like that Satan made an appearance in LoS as the ultimate evil.  I'm not saying that I like Satan as the main antagnist in CV, but I don't want Dracula to be the Devil incarnate and/or the anti-christ.

Well, the anti-christ is supposed to be the one that leads people astray from Christs teachings, the deceiver. Seeing that Dracula steals mens hopes, and is revived when peoples faith is weakened (according to Rondo iirc), it seems like it was implied earlier in the series.

I wish they had been more creative with DoS. I really like the soul system, but what they did with the story was just atrocious. The bad ending should have been the true ending. At least that would have suggested the Dracula wasn't really gone for good and would have advanced the story somewhat...
The dream reveals the reality, which conception lags behind. That is the horror of life - the terror of art.

Really?? Have you ever played the game? YOu fail hard sir, the whole game is about Dracula to a extent, I think the subtitle could well be like the old Movie's: Dracula Begins, everything is in a pre-Dracula age, but sure it will sucuumb into darkness.

Everything comes full circle
