Haven't posted in so long that my old screenname is gone. The post from last summer where I called it that the big bad guy was The Devil is gone too!  :-[

I'm calling THIS: Remember how in LoI Gandalfi's daughter was turned into a vampire?
I bet you here that Laura will turn out to be Rinaldo's daughter! With all the nods to LoI, I would be shocked if she weren't.

haha, I recall thinking that while playing LoS.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

Wow man your Laura theory is... awesome... how didn't we come up with it before?   :D

It's not exactly a new theory
I suggested it way back on page 396 & I doubt I'm the first person to have thought of it either.

Saw this on another forum and thought I'd post it here, looks like Mercurysteam is really loving the 3DS.

http://www.gamereactor.es/articulos/1037/iD%C9AME+una+Nintendo+3DS/

- Absolutely pumped about the Nintendo 3DS. Present during official presentation and later at a young developers conference to show his enthusiasm with the new handheld.
- “3D without glasses is like knocking an old barrier down” “Now the feeling is more real, and thus we don’t have to ‘cheat’ the players that much with 3D worlds”
- “I first thought about Descent or Quake, it’s like those times when you first discovered new freedom”
- Mercury Steam already played with Stereoscopic 3D and built an own Castlevania PC demo to try some tests during its development. “Although it was primitive, we all said wow because you could tell which glow worms were just some centimeters from you, and which were ten meters in the depth”.
- They’ll consider every option and are pretty interested in the 3DS, but couldn’t confirm any project for it yet.

Oh and for the 360 owners who are still intrested, Reverie is on track for tomorrow.

Oof...found it:

In regards to Laura
Did anyone else get the impression she could be Gandolfi's daughter? I've only watched the cut scenes & read the wiki articles so obviously I don't know the full story but that’s the impression I got.

How about that?  ;D
Then let me rephrase it then: I resurrect the notion of C Belmont's originally stated theory that Laura will turn out to be Gandalfi's daughter!

If MercurySteam starts making games for the 3DS in the LoS universe then I'll be worried. IMO the only way we'll see more games with the classic/traditional canon is if they're developed on the 3DS (mmmaybe the NGP/PSP2 but that's not even on the radar yet). I'd rather see LoS-style games for consoles, leave the handhelds alone!

Agreed too. Make LoS stay on consoles and put IGA on handhelds.

I don't know... I'm already thinking how awesome stuff would look on the 3DS, but it doesn't need to be a 3d action game.  They could go the way of The DraculaX Chronicles but only with a slightly more 'overhead' view (like Kirby 64 where you can see more background even though it's a sidescroller).

Perhaps I'm a bit spoiled since I'm playing the 3DS right now, but having any kind of Castlevania game (2D platformer, 3D action, 2.5d platformer) would look pretty great what with the higher resolution top & bottom screens, and of course, the 3D slider.  I've been playing Steel Diver and that game is a 2D platformer with 3D graphics and at times it feels like I'm looking inside an aquarium and piloting the subs as such, within.  Can you imagine Castlevania with enemies who come from the foreground, or perhaps with rotating sections (still platforming, but now you can really see if you're on a rotating tower, etc. as you platform up)?  I think it would be really cool in any instance of the genre.

A (non-IGA :p) Metroidvania with cool 3D effects would be the bomb IMO.

I wouldn't be against Mercury Steam making Castlevania 3DS if they put it in the original timeline and not LoS's.

I agree, the Kirby 64 used 2.5d looked great, its a shame that the gameplay was so slow.

A new 2.5d game would be wonderful, DXC was easily the best CV game of the past 5 years. I don't really care who's in charge of it as long as its not MS.

I don't see that happening >.<

I wouldn't be against if they are making a classicvania in 2D, but I think its more likely think they gonna make a 3D game, so I prefer they stay away of handhelds~

Plus, seeing LOS, I think that MS just doesnt like too much this series ;_;

why would you say that? just because you dont like it, you mean?

I recall Cox stating he loves CV. He just doesnt want to make a long drawn out series like the original timeline.
