firstly i must apologize for bringing up something thats already been discussed in depth.
i was just interested to get some fresh personal views on the idea...

but anyways, i agree with darkwzrd4 that its strange that julius knew exactly where the whip was, but perhaps he used some sort of powerful sealing technique to cause one part of the castle to retain its form with the next reincarnation? if that was the case, which part would it be perhaps...?

yeah, and Reinhart77's idea with all the different character types is kinda cool. with all that content though, the 1999 castle has gotta be massive to ensure lengthy gameplay and to provide opportunities to use all the different characters, but thatd be a good thing anyway.
maybe a theme for the game could be about sealing away each part of the castle when you defeat it or something.

and, something i want to get straight is when dracula is defeated 'for good' in 1999, that means he is completely killed, right? so when soma inherits draculas abilities, soma is said to be a 'reincarnation' of dracula, as opposed to the previous 'resurrections' of dracula, am i correct?

Yes, resurrection is when a dead person is brought back to life in that they are the exact same as when they were killed.

so when they destroyed dracula 'for good', it didn't actually do much good did it.
why didn't they find a way to seal his soul forever or something...

tangent reply to tangent: her dress could get in the way. but if she was to hitch it up...then we might see her undies... ;D
she'd have to wear something like maria or sonia, or she could float like sypha, thatd be awesome  :D

...it couldve been a good idea, maybe shes got similar abilities to the belnades or something, or actrise from cv64?

anyways, i reckon there should be a 'villain' castlevania game, where you take the view of some bad dude trying to resurrect drac, i mean, everyone would object to that of course, but...
or, maybe you could play as dracula or something, and create your own castle from chaos or something, and watch as all those miserable heros go to meet their doom, bwahahaha...

anyway, getting back to the pointtttt,
how would you structure the end of the 1999 story taking note of these points:
-julius kills dracula
-he seals the whip away somewhere
-he seals the castle into the eclipse
-he loses his memory and is separated from the others

i'm sure everyone thought Julius got killed in the final battle, and him not contacting anyone afterwards confirmed it for them.

A stage-based Julius game would be neato.

hmm, ya know, since there are so many character ideas for the 1999 game, would an action-rpg/dungeon-crawler go amiss?

hey somebody know whether there is an undead thread for discussing castlevania homebrew production?

I don't know if it was brought up but a decendent of Cornell wouldn't work. Cornell lost his were-curse at the end Legacy of Darkness, and became entirely human.

Unless one of his decendents was cursed again, then it doesn't seem likely that any of his decendents would have the curse.

As for the rest of his clan. I don't recall correctly but I think they all joined Dracula's cause and Cornell was forced to kill them when he went up against Dracula and his forces.

Quote
"the Fernandez clan is basically the same thing as the Belnades clan and the Aulin "clan".

Since Julius didn't fight alone and had a couple other hunters with him, perhaps the 1999 game could be like Castlevania III...? Kinda like when Trevor teamed up with Sypha, Grant and Alucard, it'd instead be Julius teaming up with.. whoever. Alucard for one, and then perhaps (as someone said earlier) a beastman resembling Cornell, who could be sort of like Grant, being able to climb walls and cielings.

I think it'd be nice to once again see the Castlevania III choose-your-path kind of setup. It'd be interesting to see what Julius looked like in his younger days o:

yeah, and building on that 'choose your own path' thing, maybe there can be alot of different plot changes that happen with each choice you make, but all lead up to the finishing scene.

do ya think it should be in 2d or 3d? to provide more of a link between that and cvIII, maybe 2d would be better??

I'd prefer if everything was 2D. At least the sprites and enemies etc. Perhaps it could be like in SOTN that most of the graphics are 2D but there are a few things that are in 3D, for example some enemies (like the flying books in the library) or backrounds etc.

I'd also skip the leveling-up system. I feel that having levels in a game is getting old and boring and a game can work just as fine without levels (like Legend of Zelda and Metroid).

You're right on the Cornell part, I had forgotten about that.  Its quite tragic that getting rid of the curse of the beast man meant having the entire clan wiped out and Cornell's powers going on to fuel Dracula.  You can always have a survivor of the clan, I suppose, maybe someone else was doing some aesthetic training on their own trying to achieve what Cornell had done and was away from the village during the whole incident?
