Well, what do you guys think? I think he's got a wicked sense of style, so you can at least count on it being visually AWESOME, and I liked his past films. AND that poster is bitchin', even if it's just like a super teaser. What else is cool about this?

It means that if CV:LoS is meant to be part of a trilogy, one of the entries is likely to be released in conjunction with the film, and since the film is likely going to be something along the lines of "Badass hero battles Dracula and his minions and followers" or whatever, I doubt CV:LoS is going to throw away that idea, because it would confuse the general audiences expecting to fight Dracula at some point. At least, that's what I think.

This article and that teaser poster....   :o  I...  I'm shocked...  I actually have more faith in this movie --... than the Lords of Shadow?  Good God I must be out of my mind...   :o

Sounds awesome. That poster looks like standard fanart, though (not necessarily a bad thing). Hopefully it'll live up to our expectations.

Like I said, if Lords of Shadow is meant to be part of a trilogy, one of them is likely going to be released in conjunction with the film. If the film doesn't abandon the core hero vs. Dracula idea, Lords of Shadow probably isn't either. In other words, I think people are making a planet out of a pebble, and crying over nothing, as far as LoS goes.

It's also pretty obvious that the old shitty script with a whip-less Simon is out, because Wan said that the whip was one of the reasons he wanted to do it. I have a lot more faith in this with Wan at the helm, to be honest.

wow!  i love that poster art.  if i didn't know any better, i'd say that was Juste Belmont.  quite interesting having him wielding a Japanese sword and the VK at the same time.  if Maxim could use a Japanese sword, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for Juste to also.  a well, that's probably Simon or Trevor Belmont... *sigh*

Even before this new development htat script was out of date. The most recent prior to this had been a farely accurate story detailing Trevor Belmont (or Simon? I don't remember), complete with the Vampire Killer

If there's anything that would make me hate the classic Castlevania games, it most certainly isn't the games themselves; but rather, that ignorant fraction of their fanbase.

someone on the message board for that article said that they saw that artwork used for a game in a magazine.  it might be Iga's Alucard from the new game.  Bloody Disgusting might have just turned it into a movie poster.  why would would Alucard have a whip and Japanese sword?  well, he did learn about the secret of sealing away Dracula in an eclipse while in Japan.  he might be passing the whip from the Morris Clan back to the Belmont clan or something, or from the Belmont Clan to the Morris Clan, depending on when the game takes place.  perhaps after the Belmont clan "vanished", he discovered the technique that allows a non Belmont to use the whip at full strength, and then passed along that knowledge to the Morris and Lecarde clans.  it'd be quite something if the whip allowed a half vampire like him to weild it.

I don't know how much I'd trust someone over on B-D making claims like that. They also announced that Rob Zombie would be directly remaking Halloween III, but that was actually pulled because it was total BS, and everyone knew it. They're notorious for their BS, and a lot of the people who frequent the place are 10 times worse. Plus, let's not forget, this is someone who probably isn't even a huge fan, and would mistake a screenshot from the LoS trailer for this.

Reinhart77, I wonder if that's true? I mean, if that was a poster someone saw in some magazine(a month ago, no less, as the guy said), why hasn't anybody jumped on that story? I mean, that would be MAJOR NEWS, even if it's just a poster. I mean, it would signal that, yes, maybe IGA IS still around and he is STILL working on a CV game for X360 and PS3.

Either way, the poster looks legit. I doubt they'd jack some fanart or an existing poster, Photoshop Wan's name on the top right after Wan has informed them that he's working on the CV movie.

But that poster does not prove that it is alucard because to me it actually looks more like a belmont.

He could've also mistaken that poster with this

Exactly. And besides, he said he saw it in a game magazine. Enough people around here read those that it would have been here long before today.

it would be depressing if the poster art is recycled material from a canceled game...

There would be no reason for Konami to release that poster otherwise, if in fact it was to a game that would never see the light of day.
