As far as I can tell, no company has ever gotten involved with anybody cosplaying their trademarked characters at conventions, even in the most rediculous performances. George Lucas has in fact been present at a Wondercon which saw a time-traveling clone trooper assassinate a 9-year-old Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala and Jar-Jar Binks to "spare the galaxy their bloody awful and totally irrevelent adventures," and no one heard a single thing from him other than he thought it was a clever routine. Unless your routine suddenly requires the attention of a SWAT team upon its execution, I don't think you have much to worry about from the corporate bigwigs. Just plan accordingly and get your timing down and you will undoubtedly leave a memorable mark on the stage.

...Oh snap. It just occured to me that Blade is indeed now a property of Disney. Add up another truckload of more workable material for the show there, Mantapus!

Tentitivly, the running joke of the next episode is blade being forced to plug disney products against his will throughout the episode.
my favorite part of disney takeing marvel will be when the inevitably make a kingdom hearts game that teams up cloud, goofy, jack sparrow and iron man or some nonsense.

but, as far as the legal matter.. youre right, at the moment no one cares.
but mantapus believes in being proactive, not reactive.
down the road id like to do a little more with it, i'm working on putting together a stand up dvd for example...and id really like to be able to put some of this kind of stuff as fun misc. content on it, and still want to be able to sell said dvd with no repercussions, id also like to legally have the option to maybe drop future episodes on itunes or something.   i just want to make sure that im in a secure position to work from if i try to make the most of these little projects like this.  that is what im following up on and chatting legal folks about.  just finding out the exact limits of what i can and cant do with projects such as this.

ok..its not SBVH podcast, nor is it castlevania related,  but till episode 5 comes around heres something we put together parodying the classic arcade Gauntlet.

we just had some props laying around and made a short, just fluff for the website more than anything else...but if you like Gauntlet its pretty funny, and if you dont...well then its going to be sort of weird.

spoiler alert...im not wearing a shirt in it.

after MUCH deliberation, SBVHpodcast episode 5: Product Placement is written and drafted.
should get it in the studio in the next few days.

this one was a long time over due, but to help make up for it..its looking to be one of the longest episodes yet. (judgeing only by the script..obviously it hasnt been timed.)

Anyway, so far I'm really looking forward to this one...and hope to have it to live to share soon.

*pokes head in*

Dude, the Gauntlet bit was great. I freakin' cringed when Questor took aim because I friggin' KNEW some putz was gonna' shoot the food! Classic stuff, man. Can't wait to see what's in store for the VH podcast.

SBVH podcast 5 recorded last night, and all that is left is to dig up images to make the slideshow with.
its the longest episode to date...weighing in at 16:53 including the credits and the over-credit bit...which if i may say is worth the 16 minute wait.

glad you like the gauntlet project...as i said im focusing on video game material right now, so theres going to be plenty more stuff like that.  the next one is a documentary on kidnapped girlfriends and the effects it had on relationships.

also, mobi your question made it in and is its own segment...
ps..still wanting to do art stuffs?  you never got back with me on that.

Yeah, sorry I couldn't get back to you before MP. Internet troubles and the fact that I been working overtime while sick kind of kept me from answering emails for a bit. Things are back on track now though. I'll drop you a line this week.

Episode 5 is here.
The JD & Turk of vampire hunting are back, and the long arm of the disney corporation has reached the show.  find out disneys new animated sensation project, find out what to do about a succubus or an incubus, as well as a batch of emails from the hunters at home.

all in all, its a good episode.

This is really funny. It made me roll on the floor laughing. But, were the gay jokes necessary? Too excessive, but to be honest, they served their purpose.

P.S.: At ep. 1, When Simon starts speaking I understood: "Look at my vampire hunting butt!"

P.S.S: That anime screenshot, I wonder what anime it is...

Episode 1 is really gay joke heavy at the beginning.   So much so we referred to that as the "gay block" of the show.  We kept it around because our original concepts for blade and Simon were sort of vampire hunting frat boys. So it fit as something they'd bash on vampires about.

It's less prominent in other episodes
i'm not sure what amine it's from. All the images are just gathered from google image searches. So I find lots of random stuff.

Re: Episode 5

Nice show man. And way to puss-out at the last minute and submit an apology for the email gag. Seriously. Way to [CENSORED] nail the in-joke about the size of it and then completely [CENSORED] it up its [CENSORED] and piss on it like a forty dollar Arizona whore, ya [CENSORED] muscle-brained [CENSORED] [CENSORED] ! I mean what the [CENSORED] happened, [CENSORED-CENSORED] ? Your mother- [CENSORED] balls [CENSORED] drop off or something? [CENSORED!] Sweet flaming [CENSORED-CENSORED FORTHELOVEOFGODALMIGHTY-CENSORED!!!] on a [CENSORED] [CENSORED] sandwich, guys! Show some [CENSORED] spine for [CENSORED] sake!

*exhales* . . . . . Anyways, other than that, hilarious as always. The Belmont calves had me on the floor laughing, just so you know. ;D And ahhh, here's to Blade not breaking into song anytime soon as part of his new terms of ownership mandate. Peace, [CENSORED]-suckers!

the in joke on the length actually wasnt part of the writing... it came from my own inability to read that day.
we couldnt get a take of me reading it from beginning to end without stumbling somewhere, so it became a means of breaking it up.  the end note was more about commending the question then the actual apology.
which reminds me...i need to check that email address.

also, i thought cerrome made a pretty killer Dr Doom.
