Dunno if this has been discussed before, but there is a Castlevania Concert in Stockholm, Sweden in february. Is this a Sweden-only thing or some kind of tour? Michiru Yamane will be there and everything, together with a bunch of unknown swedes. I take it they're musicians or something. I'm gonna try and get a ticket ASAP. And yes, I live in Stockholm :)

This is gonna be soooo good, I hope  :D ..Maybe I can tape it somehow...

"The immensely popular and award winning videogame-series Castlevania has always been known for it´s superior music, which will be celebrated next year at the Stockholm Concerthall (Konserthuset), led by David Westerlund and featuring among others The Stockholm Youth Symphony orchestra, a rockband, singers and The Grand Organ.

This historic event will also be attended by series composer Michiru Yamane (Symphony of the Night, etc), who is flying in from Japan not only to attend the concert and meet with fans, but also to perform some of her own music live on stage!

The concert is arranged by Levande Musik Sverige in co-operation with David Westerlund, who is a musician and gamer, educated at the Royal College of Music, Sweden, where he also lectures about the subject of videogame-music. He is mainly known for the celebrated ”FINAL FANTASY-Piano and Vocal Collections on TOUR” which was performed during the summer of 2009."

Excerpts from the Program:
Dracula´s Castle (Symphony Of The Night)
Theme of Simon Belmont (Super Castlevania IV)
Chandeliers (Super Castlevania IV)
Requiem for the Gods (Symphony Of The Night)
Tragic Prince (Symphony Of The Night)
Clocktower (Aria of Sorrow)
The Sinking Old Sanctuary (Bloodlines)
Bloody Tears (Simon's Quest)
Opposing Bloodlines (Dracula X)
Lost Painting (Symphony Of The Night)
Wood Carving Partita (Symphony Of The Night)
Beginning (Castlevania III)
Calling from Heaven (Bloodlines)
Dance of Pales (Symphony Of The Night)
Dance of Illusions (Dracula X)
Vampire Killer (Castlevania)

Yeah, if you could tape it, you could post it on youtube for those of us who can't see it.

Indeed a great tune!

I have never heard of the "Stockholm Youth Orchestra" though, but I hope they can at least..y'know..play! The "youth" part worries me. Also, "a rockband" is kinda vague. Last but not least, the tickets are friggin expensive. But I'm definitely attending, I've been trying to sneak in and see "Play! A Videogame Symphony" every time it has been in Stockholm, but it's always sold out. This time it's not. I guess there aren't that many Castlevania fans in Sweden after all. Good for me :)

I see I'll have a chance to meet personally some of You, great! :)

There is new information on concert site, like "The Making of Castlevania - The Concert" and "Message from Kinuyo Yamashita" videos:
http://www.castlevaniaconcert.com/index2_enn.html

Also very important information:
”The purpose with this concert is to deliver the best possible tribute to the music of the
Castlevania series, in a show created by fans for fans. Meanwhile, one of the worst disasters in
modern day has occurred in Haiti, which is why we will donate the surplus from the concert to
helping children in need in Haiti.”, says Erik Eklund, Producer at Levande Music Sverige.

You'll probably be also interested in interview with David Westerlund (originator of the concert):
http://www.gamemusic.net/show_news.php?id=71
http://www.gamemusic.net/interview.php?id=29&s=1

I'm one of three people who prepared questions for the interview. ;) Enjoy!

Hi everyone! For two hours I'm finally back at home (after hard night full of delays and waiting for transport xD)!

Together with my friends I prepared some interesting materials for You, so I still don't have time for sleep. :) I will do my best to show You everything during this week (I need to write a report and then it will be translated from Polish by other person for You). Be patient please! :)

@Straycat - The concert has its own official record but unfortunately I don't know what organizers will do with it.

I unfortunately couldn't go cause I have a really bad cold :(
The weather has been kinda awful lately (yes, I know - it's Sweden - but this is ridiculous even for Swedish winter) so I decided to not leave my apartement at all this weekend. I hope the concert was fantastic!
