Changes between original Rondo and DXC Rondo Remake

Since no one made a thread about this yet,I guess I will.

There are probably a lot of changes I probably overlooked, seein how I haven't played the original Rondo for a year.  Also, maybe someone else could, but I think I should skip the added cutscenes since those are obvious. Anyway, the changes that caught my eye are:

The engine room on the ship.  It is in the remake and now has a remake.  Instead of the wall tiles being generic(the one you slip under as Maria,) this wall is now decorated; it now looks like a giant engine piece. The stairs at this section of the wall is still present.  In the secret room, one of those rifle skeletons is there.  also, *spoiler*

This is where one of the music piece is located at.  Also, this room is partly covered in ice

*Another change is freeing Iris.  Rather thanpressing down frog statues, you lead a blue frog to an empty stool.  He then steps on it and the bridge opens.

*The females you save now give you a powerup to destroy something so that you can obtain a music cd.

RoB:
-More cutscenes
-Like the SNES version, if you don't save Annette, you have to fight her.
-If you do, extra fight with Dracula
-Boss intros
-Alternate Level 5 is now an actual stage. Just as hard as the original, if not a little worse.
-You have to find original ROB & SOTN to unlock them in the stages, not just beat the game.

The Shaft boss rush stage seems tons easier in the remake.  The Minotaur boss is easier too.  Death seemed harder in the remake, for some reason.

The Clocktower stage now has Moon Fight as the main BGM instead of Den.  The section in the Dungeon level where fleamen ride iron balls down the stairs is now expanded one big screen to the right.  I don't believe that area with the pulleys was in the original.

Annette's original hiding spot is now a succubus mini-boss fight.

Stage 5' seems completely redone with a new BGM even.  Also, (highlight for spoiler:)

You can't beat Dracula at all if you haven't rescued all the chicas and killed Shaft's ghost.  Shaft comes and whisks Drac away at the end of the fight if you haven't gotten 100%.

Stage 7 has an entirely different section where you have to go through gates which are opened by switches, a 1-Up is in there (candle between gates 2 and 3), though I can't get further than the 3rd gate before it closes.

In the ghost ship the hidden room that Maria can get to, the portal to nowhere is no longer there, but there is a music piece hidden within.

-Many more secrets and things to find, which adds a LOT of replay value(ie every song on the Soundtrack, the original Rondo and Symphony)
-Heee-larious voice acting, especially on the original Rondo
-Japanese voices included, if you tire of the unintentional humor of the English voices
-A new Stage 5' (actually, it isn't really new, they just slapped an Aqueduct motif on it. Makes the level much more interesting, and there's now a boss.)
-The custom soundtrack option (sadly, does not apply to MP3s on your memory stick. That would have made it much more fun)
-Maria is playable in SotN. But you probably knew that. Don't know if there are new areas yet. Not holding my breath for that one.

Also:
The intro is no longer there. (I'm talking about when they show the cutscene at the very beginning before the prologue with the town getting destroyed with O.P. playing in the background.) I don't remember if the little confrontation with Annette and Dracula is still between stage five and six though.

Alternate Stage 4: I'm not sure if this was in the original, but upon beating Camilla?, when I was getting the orb, Dracula appeared (in black smoke silhoutte) and laughed for a moment before disappearing again.

even though someone has already mentioned it.

*highlight below for spoiler*

If you don't save Annete, she becomes a new succubus boss.  She basically looks like the one from Lament.  However, unlike the previous succubus bosses, she uses bats to protect her(when they form a shield around her, she is invincible) and as a form as an attac (like the bug guy in DOS and POR.)

No, nothing yet, I'd like to see it myself considering I saved her.

In japanese it's SHAFTO FAIA or SHAFTO BOOL or something.

Also http://youtube.com/watch?v=DI-jkIu9QLs

Cutscene where you save maria for those who won't play it like me.

Edit:

Also an interesting thing I found while messing with the game's voice files.

*spoil me*
If you save Anette before Maria the Maria cutscene might change, since there are voice samples where maria goes all wow when Richter tells her he already saved her.

Sections of the remake are definitely harder than the original, while other sections seem easier. Also I think they changed the AI and hit detection. The second Mace Skeleton in Stage 5, you used to be able to crouch on the platform above and whip him, but that doesn't work anymore. I had to take him out with the Dagger.

The Minotaur boss is easier too.  Death seemed harder in the remake, for some reason.

Funny cuz I thought the Minotaur was harder in the remake. For some reason he kicked my ASS the first time I got to him, while in the original, I don't know that I EVER died at him. I agree with you about Death though. Fuckin' spammer that one! I finished off his first form without a scratch and then he spammed that Skull attack thing and whittled me down to near nothing. >:^|

:-[ Man, I feel like an idiot...

Can someone post how to save the ladies? I already have Maria...

I haven't had time to play the game, so I just got to level 5. I just beat level 3, alternate and regular, and I beat every boss in all the previous except on 4, in which I fought the Dullahan.
