That would be pretty awesome.  I do hope they include the 64 titles though.

To not include the N64 titles would be an absolute waste. Hope this stands as a rumor.

If its for PSP, maybe a UMD couldn't hold enough space for both C64 and Legacy of Darkness?   I wouldn't mind them not being included as long as we can get them separately on the virtual console.  I hope it would be downloadable.  I would be a little upset if I had to put in a disk on my Wii in order to play some of the titles.  If its a wiiware title instead of a virtual console title, then there's a possibility they could add things on to it if they wanted, like Boss Rushes or new modes of play or cheats.

Hey, there aren't any plans on phasing out UMDs altogether so that you have to get a PSP Go or a bigger memory stick, are there?

They just need to release the 64 titles as either The Legacy of Darkness Chronicles or The Apocalypse Chronicles and update both games with better graphics, gameplay, boss rush, more costumes etc and include the originals.

Also haven't heard that rumor.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. But, if not, that was precisely the plan Sony had in store with the PSPGo, to have all future PSP games available as downloads, eventually exclusively. The upside is their plan was thwarted for a number of reasons, foremost among them being lackluster reception of the PSPGo and a plan to have in-store availability of kiosks to transfer UMD games to memory sticks falling through.

For now, I don't think UMD games are going anywhere. Maybe when the PSP2 comes out, but I'd wager Sony is rethinking download only even then, so it may well be physical media too, whatever that media turns out to be.
If I forgot "everything I knew about Castlevania" I certainly wouldn't be excited about a new one coming out now would I?

How exactly is good to have a Castlevania Collection for Wii if the Wii already has 5 Castlevania titles with a 6th on its way (Rondo) to buy for a few bucks? The only titles out of this lineup and Virtual Console-ready are Castlevania Bloodlines and the N64 games. In order to make this collection worthy, they should add a lot of extra games, not only Symphony of the Night. For instance, I have SotN in two forms already (PS1, Dracula X Chronicles), and there's more options to get it.

Oh, well, if there isn't anything unique on it, I've got almost every game anyway.

Well I hope this is real. having a good selection of CV games all in one package would be great. I would love it if they include the 64 titles, more so than SotN, they never get enough love. And who cares if there are already a bunch on the Virtual Console, it's still a good deal to release an actual disc with them all together. No matter whats on this, if it is in fact real, I'll still buy it without any second thoughts.

Also, I doubt they would, but it would be great if they include Adventure Rebirth
What a horrible night to have a curse!

They're excluding the 64 titles because the majority opinion of them is THEY SUCK. It would deal a negative image of the series.

Sold on the Wii collection if they make it. Hopefully SotN PSP version gets the port, with all the extras. I didn't get the VC titles, but having them all on one disk would be nice. Who knows, maybe it'll even have bonuses like remixed sound tracks or something, much akin to Megaman Anniversary Collection.

It would be grand if it included every pre-SOTN game ever made. (And SOTN, too.) Including the rarer stuff, like Rondo, X68000, Vampire Killer (the MSX2 game), Haunted Castle (with varying difficulty options)... That would make this a must-have for any fan. All those plus I–IV, Bloodlines, Dracula X SNES, the three original Game Boy games, and hell, both versions of Kid Dracula, would make this a treat. Heck, throw in the GBA games—why not? And the N64 ones, dammit, 'cos those games rule—and properly emulated in 480p resolution (like all the N64 Virtual Console titles are). That would be a blast and would sell assloads and would be the "Castlevania Anthology" the CV Internet crowd has clamored for for a very long time.

Extra awesome points if all the games are uncensored regardless of region it's released in.

I think Abnormal Freak has got something here...  ;D

I'd definitely buy that collection. Even though I already have the majority of those titles, I'd still buy it!

And too, I'd like it if they would include alternate versions, like how Castlevania III is so wildly different in both the States and Japan due to the NES version having limitations. Plus, it would just be nice to play the Japanese version since it's a bit easier, in addition to having better music and slightly fancier graphics. One can dream; no company would ever do something that cool.

But hey, maybe somebody from Konami will read this, think it's a good idea, and then be anxious to give me a boner by including all this stuff. The saying for the project amongst developers will go, "Persevere for the sake of Freak's stiffy!" They'll even put it on plaques above every door and urinal so that all will be constantly reminded of the mission at hand: to not let me down, causing me to go flaccid.

I couldn't have said it better.

This is probably a must for me to purchase anyway, since it's Castlevania, but even more so with an inclusion of Vampire Killer or Haunted Castle. I didn't love either of those games or anything, but they would be nice to own for the sake of completion.

I find Haunted Castle to be pretty fun, even though it is quite tough. One thing it's definitely got going for it, however, is a kick-ass soundtrack. Maaaaaaan, those are some great tunes.

Never played Vampire Killer, but I watched some playthrough videos on YouTube, and it looks totally lame, ha ha. Still, it was in development before the NES game despite being released after, and is in every way the origin of the series, so it'd be interesting to have and play for its historic significance. Thank goodness Konami saw a good thing back in the day and demanded another team take inspiration from it and make the more action-oriented Castlevania we know and love.
