If IGA is able to produce another castlevania game for the DS I hope he brings back ayami kojima for artwork and miss yamane for the music for old times sake. Though I would prefer stage by stage, I dont think i could actually go through another metrovania personally, maybe after a while but as of right now Im exhausted on that type of set up.

Why not a mixture of them both.
Have stage by stage, but let us have a little exploration of each stage..
Every stage have one exit, but we must take like two ore three detours to reach it.

Works fine with me.

Or he could go for the Rondo/CV3 kind of layout - Stage by stage, but you can choose different routes through the game. I do however think that the game would have to be longer than the old school Castlevanias, and definitely have more routes than the games I mentioned. Also; save feature/level select (after you've beaten a certain level). It would probably make the game a bit easier, but also more up to date with what gamers of today expect.

Oh, and the graphic style from the previous three DS games has got to go already. Ecclesia had new sprites alright, but the game looked pretty much the same as PoR and DoS - oddly cartoonish, especially when compared to something like Super CV4 (Which, by the way, is what I think Konami should be aiming for, visually)

I agree I think if they did another DS game they need to try and capture that dark look that SCV4 had. The atomosphere for that game was perfect for castlevania. Course if they brought back ayami kojima and tried to capture her art style while trying to combine elements from scv4 I think it could work out.

I sure hope Ayami Kojima does the artwork for the next game after LoS. I miss her art.

Yes though I must admit some of her art was somewhat bizarre (her illustraions outside of castlevania) they were still beautiful pieces. Another thing though is that I love the artwork being done for Lords of Shadow. It is a nice break from the constant use of anime we are use to seeing.

I'm enjoying OoE better now that I'm not expecting another one anytime soon.  I had put it down for a while, but am now enjoying it at my leisure (I'm at that giant centaur like boss now).

Ecclesia was good, though too easy. I don't understand why people said it was much harder than PoR and DoS... even reviewers said this. I didn't find it very challenging.. maybe I leveled up too much, dunno.

And thats why I like LoI better..
In "level"-games: When it gets hard, just kill a bunch of easy enemies and you get stronger in all ways, that include even more IQ somehow.. ..
In "non level"-games: When it gets harder, you tackle the challenges like a TRUE gamer!!

But no offense "level"-Castlevanias.. I love you anyway :P

"Too easy" because Shanoa can back-dash, double jump, slide, do all that cool acrobatic stuff. If there was just a single jump action & 1 attack the game would be hard as hell  ;)

Is Haunted Castle considered the hardest of them all?

Yeah, I guess so. But it's hard in a frustrating, stupid way. I honestly never felt like I was getting any better at the game. Dracula's Curse is hard too, but you can defintely master it. I'm sure you can master Haunted Castle too, but it's so unforgiving and not especially fun IMO, so I dunno who in their right mind would even wanna go there...

If Kojima was on art duty, then you could say goodbye to the SCV4 look. SCV4 almost felt like a Frank Frazetta painting at times, specifically the covers he did for "Creepy Magazine" back in the day.

If we ever got a Castlevania that looks like that, I'd shit myself.

That, I admit, would be awesomely old school!

I would love to see the old-school konami artwork of the early 90's come back. More specifically the artwork that was done for CV3, SCV4, CV: Bloodlines, etc. That was some good art and only now after a few years have gone by can I truly appreciate it. SotN's artwork was good when I first saw it. It was fresh and different. But after a time with so many CV games coming out using that same style it got quite stale. And the fact that most of the characters looked almost the same (the Androgynous feminine look) is just not doing it for me. It never really has cause I expect ever character to have a uniqueness to them rather then looking like feminine clones of the previous 'others'.
