look carefully at the shadow line on the Maria picture. She's not wearing shorts. It's an inner skirt that almost looks like shorts but the shadow line gives it away.

Umm... Yeah, if you look closely at that shot in the video and not the panties (I know, boys. It's hard), you can clearly see that its another layer and not shorts. Why the Japanese would put shorts on any video game/anime chick wearing a skirt is a definite mystery. It would have been American censors who would add a pair of shorts after the fact.

Ha ha!  Lycra tights.
Used in Volleyball.  Over shorts.  Even in Boys' Volleyball (high school).

I'm definitely NOT sure wtf lycra tights are doing in the 1790's though.  Ha ha!  Anachronistic.  Then again, the SotN Frogs drop New York Style Pizza (TMNT reference?) so really I shouldn't be talking much.
