Thank you Roan. I've been spending the last three hours playing Castlevania Reincarnation. Which is very bad because I have two finals I should be studying for tomorrow. Well, anyways, I've beaten it, so it's now out of the way. The screenshots are quite deceptive. The problem with these cellphonevania's is,
a. the control is usually quite atrocious. In Reincarntion for example, you can't press two buttons at the same time, so if you want to jump off to either side, you have to first press jump, then either left or right. Another problem is that you don't hold down for crouching, press down puts you permanently in the crouching position.
b. the frame rate sucks. It's quite jittery.
c. there's no music (I've only played three so far, and only one of them had dedicated music, but it was pretty bleepy-bloopy and annoying after awhile).
So, like I said, the screenshots are really deceptive. There's no doubt a lot of work went into most of these games, but the platform on which they've been presented, is a waste. The Castelvania experience just does not translate to the cell phone.
