I can't for the life of me find this song. It's in symphony of the night, and I could have sworn it was in the underground caverns or the catacombs, but it aint. It super slow and creepy and minimal and in the background everyonce in a while it sounds like theres creepy cackeling of a witch or somethign, like this weird little "EEEEEE" sound.

Is this the Sega saturn version? Cause that version of SotN had maybe three or four other songs that never made it on the PSX version.

So are you going to work that into LoS's soundtrack now?

I think there's a sound library that has all those sound samples.  Those creepy sounds in the background are:

1. Wind blowing
2. Bat wings flapping
3. Bats chirping/squealing
4. Tree Cricket (0:02, the very percussive sound)
5. Two types of night birds (that's what sounds like the two squeals)
6. Some kind of insect sound.
7. Water dripping (sounds like it's a cave at times but at others sounds like your kitchen sink)

Yeah, never knew there was so much wildlife in a cave...
In all seriousness though, that song one of the creepiest I've ever heard. It makes me get through the abandoned mine as fast as possible haha.

Original English translation had this piece dubbed "Abandoned Pit." In my skewed opinion, THE most annoying piece on the whole SotN soundtrack. No, seriously. I do not know why so many people enjoy this little number or claim it to be creepy or eerie. Come on, people. "Chacone C. Moll" from the Saturn edition was more atmospheric, and it was barely included in the game it premiered in. It was the one moment that felt like filler from Yamane-san on the soundtrack.

I dunno. I guess this is one of those things I'm just not supposed to understand. Some folks love the Curse of Darkness soundtrack, some hate one game solely because of skeletons riding motorcycles, some just love this piece of netherworld elevator music. *shrugs*

Lol, just reminded me of when George Washington explored a cave as a child. He noted all the strange life in it, including eyeless Reptiles.

Abandoned pit is a masterfully crafted piece, with all those creepy sounds and the erratic piano which sounds like it's being played by someone with severe mental issues. Chacone C. Moll, in the other hand, is just creepy because it has a leading organ, and organs are always creepy but in a cliched way. That being said, I don't find anything atmospheric in Chacone C. Moll. This song sounds to me like music from an evil church, but the stage where it's played is full of goofy enemies and reused, particularly bland tiles. Not creepy stuff at all.
