First Richter busts his ass to save this Annette chick, and then during Symphony, she's nowhere to be found!

Now, we've got this CVIIILand-based slot machine with this really hot chick that gives TRalphor a hand by clearing a room full of skeletons...and it's not even Sypha!

What's going on here? o_O

That's some clever observation, detective. Could it be there's a hidden agenda where the females are all succubus, tasked to lure the Belmont Clan from prosperity and battle Dracula forever [because he needs it]

Or am I just losing my mind

When Belmont children are born, the mother's soul is sucked into the Vampire Killer whip.

scary!  i can't think of anything that would discount that theory.

It's odd that Richter nor Maria made any mention of Annette in the radio drama as far as I can tell.  I think someone else here theorized that Richter may have killed Annette when he was influenced by Shaft, and hence had no heirs.

The Belmonts reproduce by mitosis. This is why there are no Belmont wives. They are fragile creatures that will die if they touch water.

When a new bud breaks off, it is family tradition to dye his hair a different color and pass the Vampire Killer to him.

LOL.  In my opinion, the reason they aren't mentioned is because for the most part they are ordinary women (except for Sypha that is).  I'm surprised that she wasn't in CoD, but she could have been home and possibly pregnant.

if comics mean anything (and Iga at least had some input into them), Belmont women are usually warriors in their own right (according to an interview with one of the guys who made the Belmont Legacy comics at least).  of course, Annette had to turn into a vampire for us to see it with her.

I always thought Sypha was Trevor's bride and mother of his child, which was why Juste (simon's grandson) could use super magic down the line.

Well the SotN is explained by Richter either failing to save his romantic interest, or the simple fact he was influenced by evil and headed off to resurrect Dracula alone without telling anyone. He vanished and then the castle appeared, causing Maria to search it assuming that he was likely in it's confines.

The one thing that irks me in Castlevania is how so many of the females we do see are a hapless harlots.

Hmm, we've had a few outside refrences to the wifes and love intrests of castlevania, but they were less then flattering. I recall a number of horrid Japanese manga porn of Maria and even the lead of OoE that my friend showed me some months ago. Overall, women do not get fair treatment in anything related to castlevania, lol.

There was this one time I was playing Symphony of the Night--I was probably slicing up some Venus Weeds with the Crissaegrim--and I suddenly thought, "...when did CastleVania become about brutality against women?"
