Nintendo 3DS - 3D gameplay ideas for 2D Castlevania

You know Nintendo 3DS. A new handheld which can produce 3D effects without the need for any special glasses. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_3DS

I'm sure Igarashi Team are working on a game for Nintendo 3DS. All Nintendo handhelds have Castlevania games, and 3DS will have, too.

I think something new 3D gameplay add-ons for 2D Castlevania would be great.

Just like this:

The view from right and left are different.

How do you think? Does it work?

Maybe you have better idea for using 3D screens.
And don't forget:
Gameboy graphics = NES graphics
GBA graphics = SNES graphics
DS graphics = N64 graphics
3DS graphics = Gamecube or Wii graphics.

I want "Symphony of the Night 2" on 3DS!

3D effects for 2D games? Yes that's pretty cool already had thought for some time in playing Symphony of the Night like this! Hopefully Iga and many other producers do games like this!

I really hope IGA is working on a CV game for 3DS, and I wish for a 2D game with a few 3D things, to the same extent of DOS using some touch screen..

We do not need a 3DS for 3D effects.

You see GTA: Chinatown Wars? While it had a classic GTA gameplay, the entire city was on 3D.

It will have a sensor to track your head, probably like the camera in the DSi. So you may be able to look around like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw. Badaaassssssssss. skip to 3:00 and watch till the end.

I'm not against 3D boobs.

But most importantly, I'd like a NEW idea, not just another Symphony of the Night. Or if it is another non linear game, for God's sake, get some enthusiastic level designers. I'm tired of blank hallways with some enemies in them.

i've mentioned in the earlier thread that I'd like to see a slanted overhead perspective more like the newer Gauntlets.  something where the 3D aspects can really feel like 3D objects, but where you don't have to worry about the camera angle adjusting (just use your head to get another perspective and see as far in any direction as you'd like).  this would be quite a change of pace, anyways.

I've wondered for years why there weren't stereogram movies or games.  Theoretically it would be possible, just like one of those Magic Eye images, but ones that move.  As long as the offset between the left-eye view and right-eye view remain the same, it should be possible to keep the same depth of focus and watch the illusion of 3D images play out in front of you.  It's kind of a stretch, and I'm not sure how long the viewer would be able to keep up the focal point, but if you've ever see a Magic Eye properly you'll understand how your focus sort of locks in once you get it.

I just really don't care for the 3D glasses.  They would've ruined Avatar for me if the shitty writing and shallow characters hadn't beaten them to it.

Ah yes, ha ha. Never bothered to go see that one. I'm kind of a film freak, and all my friends and family whose opinions on movies I...generally don't agree with were all praising the movie, while every one of my film snob buddies and I were all, "Eh... I dunno." And the ones who did see it pretty much felt "meh" afterward.

And I hate 3D. I hate how that shitty gimmick has surfaced in a big way in cinema again, and I fear that this 3DS will be more of that gimmicky garbage. I mean, I really hope Nintendo do something cool instead, but I'm a little bit skeptical (though kinda excited at the same time, because I am ever the Nintendo faithful).

Speaking about movies in 3D..I watched Alice in Wonderland in 3D and it was great! And Avatar I watched in 2D and I could`t watch it until the end because it sucked so much. But I am ready to embrace 3D and hope Iga is working on a new game, but not entirely in 3D, but 2D with some 3D elements. That could be very cool! I can already see bats flying at me, swords stubbing me from the screens etc. :D

I watched Coraline with 3D glasses and it wasn't too bad, though I would definitely prefer if there was a way to get 3D without glasses.

It looks like if Paul Anderson ever does actually make a Castlevania movie, it will be in 3D:
