exactly.

HD wasn't gonna be a legit title, it was an experiment but konami didn't expect it to blow up like that.
huh, so i am right.

In other words, people are just mad at it cause its not a new castlevania game with nothing new except it being the first multiplayer castlevania game.

It's more than just the graphics that people complained about. Subweapon grinding is extremely tedious and a lot of rare item drops are much rarer than they really needed to be (both of which could've been done to artificially extend replay value), all characters are nerfed to some extent except for Soma, and the game just feels uninspired overall (especially when you compare it with games that share the same price tag, like Torchlight).

Graphics-wise, the only thing I didn't really like was how it was implied that this game was in HD, and that's kind of misleading.
In a way, the drops is kinda like diablo, huh? And the subweapon grinding i don't really mind.

this is also why they didn't go all out, its an experiment to see how well or not it'll do.
I think PSN is phase 2, to see how the PSN Users would react, If its alot like the Xbox, they'll make a new full game as its sequel from its success.
People say its lazy, but DXC overhauled Maria for SOTN giving her completely new sprites, and that appeared as minimalist effort.

A lackluster one at that.

Yea, cause you totally count as one of the ones that are mad that it ain't a new castlevania game.

Despite us being fans, the castlevania series is just a video game franchise we all love, not a life upgrade. So how bout we stop acting like the sonic fanbase and let castlevania be before we just make things worse?

Balance is important to every game. Duh? How was there ever any question or excuse for this one?

HD is still a shitty knockoff no effort duct tape creation. It just happens to be the only thing left now.

The graphics don't make the game argument falls flat here because the graphics are quality, just old and recycled 99%. It doesn't have BAD graphics it just has nothing new. Aka extremely lazy.

I think that covers all the dumb points brought up in the last page. God, affinity was better than you dorks.

well Kamui Zero did say the "game's still fun as shit,"

but to Harmony of Despair's defense, atleast it offered some neat music & new character artwork. I'm still waiting for full-body artwork, though. And if they were to release Trevor, Sypha, Grant, Albus & the Lecarde sisters, I may consider buying them

Balance is just a mere fantasy now, cause most of the games that are out right now have one little flaw in them that'll just break the game. And when they try to balance things, it just makes things both better and worse (or just one).

And if all dumb points have been proven, can you prove to us that it WASN'T an experiment and a game meant for pure competition and a bunch of other dumb stuff people "care" about in coop games? Last time i checked this game was meant for pure fun, not competition.

It's just a shame that this will probably be IGA's swan song. He's capable of so much better.

Hopefully its not. If we're to get a final castlevania game from him, it should be done right.

Actually, I wouldn't mind a HD 2, with creativity in mind.
All or most of the stages can be New
Slightly Redrawn Characters a la Maria PSP with extra Costumes and a Palette editor (like GG Isuka)
Each character should play Mostly like thier respected game, a Dual Wielding Soma with Stolen weapons was BS
Have a Stage Making Mode with tons of extra enemies and Bosses not in the main game (to promote the usage of it)
A Score as EXP Level system and Weapon Upgrade system.
A random Form Dracula Battle (he has enough forms to randomize)
Allow player to carry 4 different items (RT+A,B,X, or Y) at respected amount plus auto item refill.
A serparate Dual Crash Bar, and a Dual Crash per person, no recycles
other fixes and Special Features

Add the ability to use your own music and you got me sold.
Though i really doubt they'd do a sequel to this game, regardless if it did well or not. Though if it were to happen, they should just release it on both consoles so nobody has to wait a friggin year just to play it, least the ones stuck on one console and a wii.

I, for one, love grind-heavy games and Castlevania, so I have a feeling that i'm going to LOVE this game. I understand many here have played it and strongly dislike it, but I'm holding out judgement until I actually play the game.

When did Konami say the game was just an experiment? I haven't heard anything of the sort.

In a way, the drops is kinda like diablo, huh? And the subweapon grinding i don't really mind.

I've haven't played any of the Diablo games (yet), but I'd always hear people bitching about doing 500+ runs on a chapter and still not getting some of the rarest items like Sonic Boots, Valmanways, etc.

As for the subweapon grinding, it kind of ruined the game for me. I wanted to play as all characters and max all of them out, but after grinding with Shanoa and Richter, that's not gonna happen. Just thinking about more grinding keeps me from going back to this game. I was even equipping two Master rings, stocking up on mana potions before each run, and either shortcutting to Beelzebub or spamming Menace on Hard, and it was still way too damn slow for my tastes. Grinding from level 8 to get to 9 especially...feels like pure sadism on the developers' part.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

Wow, do you actually listen to yourself talk or just spit out words at random?

That's it, I want affinity back. Affinity was a super infuriating troll, but at least her posts wern't the flagship for captain obvious mixed with some illogical cluster fuck.
