Due to respect for the rules I have gotten the go ahead from administration to post this topic in a revised fashion.
This time I wish only for fans who are interested in the idea of a Mortal Kombat vs. Castlevania mish-mash to reply. Suffice it to say I was a little bummed out that the replies that I got were very down on Mortal Kombat. I love the series despite its many faults and I think this idea would be injected with a lot of life if this idea was considered. I just hope that some people in this forum still love the series as much as I do as I love Castlevania with equal fervor.
     This is a fan-fic slash storyline for the game that I would like to see done. Since both series have the element of blood, gore, monsters and death in them (apart from other things) I think a merging of the two can, nay, must take place just because it may be an exception to the rule. I don't mind if you criticize the writing but I just hope like I said that there is something here to work with.  
The first link leads to the MK side of the story this is the Castlevania side of the story.

Castlevania story line
Simon Belmont
Simon Belmont has had the sting of Dracula's Curse hit him on two occasions. He is lucky to have survived both encounters with the Lord of the Vampires. Being bound by
the duty of his ancestors is no issue to him. He and he alone will honorably fulfill his destiny to send the Count back into his pit of eternal sentence. However, he will
not be able to bring this reality to fruition unless he acquires the power of the Vampire Killer Whip that his forefather Leon had the lamented fortune of creating.

Richter Belmont
He has dealt with Dracula's wicked power and his sickening lust to vampirize young maidens like Annette his wife and her now grown up sister Maria. Fortune has been on
his side and his wife and her sibling escaped death and damnation without a drop spilled. In his last encounter with the former Matthias Cronquvist nearly turned his
allegiance to evil. A new threat has arisen and Richter is feeling the influence of evil and arrogance creeping into his being. The egoistic nature trying to claim him
wants to make him believe he is the supreme vampire hunter and the only one worthy of wielding the Belmonts ancient artifact of war.

Leon Belmont
If it had not been for the unfortunate loss of Leon's beloved fiance Sara the Vampire Killer Whip would not exist. His reluctant sacrifice of his one true love prevented
her from an eternity of damnation but the destruction of Walter Bernhardt would cost Leon his best friend and give rise to the Son of the Devil. His wrath is clouding his
judgment as he desires to tell Matthias that he will never forgive him for his blasphemy and intends to send his friend back into the abyss.

 
Sonia Belmont
She was the first to encounter Dracula. Though she destroyed his power with utmost vigilance she also showed pity for the Count asking him if there was someone he ever
cared for in his former life. Sonia has no idea that she is being coveted by the dark lord and by others. She must claim the power of her bloodline's whip to insure that
evil will rest in peace.

Sypha Belnades
The sorceress had been freed by Trevor many years ago and with her help Trevor was able to upend the Count. After the battle the two lived out their lives together and
peaceably passed on into the next life. However her grave-site has been desecrated and her now decayed body is being used to cause terror across her homeland. She must
descend from paradise to defeat the flesh and reclaim control over her former earth bound life. In her endeavors she will be aided and opposed by others like her.

Alucard
The son of the vampiric count suffers from a most horrific fate and has awakened again. He must suppress the murderous impulse of his father's tainted blood all the
while he is aware of is inevitable encounter with Dracula. In this time he has become very protective of Maria, fearing for her safety he may do something that could
put him and her in jeopardy.

Maria Renard
In 1792 she fought the count as a child. Five years later she sought for her missing brother-in-law in Castlevania to find him being controlled by Dracula's minion
Shaft. The ensuing battle between Richter and Alucard resurected Dracula. Although the tribulation ended victoriously for humanity, she is tied to the Belmont bloodline and thus a target.
Now she is pursued by evil not only for her power but her beauty as well. However, Dracula's forces are not the only interested warriors.

Hector
The devil forgemaster left his master and forswore his powers to break the ties of evils. He would pay the price for his betrayal as his second in command saw to the
execution of Hector's fiance. Now with his powers reclaimed he seeks vengeance on Isaac and in doing so may cause the destruction of his dimension.

Eric Lecarde
He and John Morris fought Dracula in the 19th century. Knowing that Dracula could revive after a centuries time he seeks a mysterious weapon. A spear of holy power used
to execute a holy man nearly 18 centuries ago. The power that pulses from the spear could be used to end the cycle of Dracula's revival forever. Knowing this Death has
hatched a scheme to see if he can recruit a warrior from the pits of hell to obtain the artifact before Lecard locates it.

Cornell
Through his years of ascetic training and time spent living among wolves; Blue Cresent Moon has mastered his Werewolf power and seeks to find his sister before she is
potentially vampirised. Understanding that his powers make him a target to be manipulated Cornell must be vigilant and discerning as to whom he allies himself with in
his quest to uproot Shafts plans.

Trevor Belmont
In the 15 century he and three warriors he befriended helped to rid Transylvania of the dread Curse of Vlad Tepes. Having successfully conquering evil and fulfilling his
bloodline duty he passed on into the next life. However, his rest would not be eternal. Dark warriors, lustful for blood and chaos disturb his resting place reanimating
his corpse through black magic. Loosed of his tormentors he wanders the land a zombie still with the instinct for combat but to him all peole he encounters he sees only
as his arch enemy Dracula.

Grant Danasty
His family was killed by Dracula in the 1400's. Eager to assist in Dracula's destruction he aided Trevor in erradicating the King of Vampires. Grant's legacy would live on
long after his death. One night, an army of brainwashed druids assisted Shaft in exhuming Grant, Trevor and Sypha's bodies with the purpose of using their carcasses to
infuse the Chaos necessary for Dracula to walk among the living. With his spirit only partially conscious in his rotting flesh' Grant comes across a ship that reminds him
of his families vessel. He takes the helm unbeknownst that this ship leads to the Isle of a powermongering sorcerer with a lust for the souls of warriors.

Isaac
The adversary of Hector is the only other devil forgemaster in existence. Though hunted by Hector it is Isaac that wishes to be the executioner. His power to conjure
familiars at his whim is a talent sought out by minions of Dracula but it is also caught the eye of sorcerers the psychopathic warrior has no knowledge. Isaac is a man
who has been completely consumed by the curse and his madness and he passion for killing may be more than any of his pursuants are willing to deal with.

Shaft
Shaft has been responsible for the resurrection of Dracula on two separate occasions and this time he believes that this time Dracula will not be contested by the
Belmonts. As a vessel of evil power he is able to divine beings of power and magic through which he may enlist to use for his masters designs. He has noticed warriors
some of which can create portals others whom have special abilities to manipulate or absorb souls that can aid Dracula.

Medusa
Once a beautiful maiden, she was cursed by the Greek gods and transformed into a monster. Driven mad over the years she derives sick thrills from turning warriors to stone.
Dracula's warriors enlisted her for her wicked gift. Other warriors have seen the potential of having such a force on their side.

Legion/Doppleganger
A compilation of souls combined with the power of a shapeshifting monster makes this abomination nearly unstoppable. Basically the shape shifter can when threatened shed
parts of itself that become a possessed soul with the power to brutally ravage whatever crosses its path. An army of mindless warriors from a changeling is definitely
Dracula's handiwork. With endless souls to empower it one would think Shang Tsung for one would have his eye on this walking nightmare.

Camilla
This vampire is into seducing females in order to gain control of them and present them to her master, the Count. She has allied herself with the Succubus with the notion
of realizing her destructive yet amorous desires. Remembering of the Counts neice Elizabeth Bartley she dispatches a plan with aid from the Succubus to gain a power female
force for her own campaign of evil.

Succubus
She has the ability to shapeshift into the form of the females she captures to use as a weapon of enticement to snare her lady captives male companions. Though she has
served Dracula she has begun to grow weary of his fickle nature and lack of loyalty to her. She has observed other female warriors that she wants as her own playthings.
With that she decides to confide in Camilla in a plot to make her lord recognize how foolish he is to ignore her.

Slogra
What is this creature. All that is known is that he fights fiercly for his master. Still Slogra is tired of being an underling of Death and wouls like to have a
subordinate of his own. He comes in contact with the Oni monsters and thinks to himself. Yeah I can take them.

Gaibon
Like Dhramin is to Moloch so to is Gaibon Slogra's compatriot. He too wishes to put a couple of warriors under his heel. But despite the desires of the close associates
to the count it may be Quan Chi who ends up the one holding the power over the four of them.

Akmodan
This mummies past has little information. Perhaps he was an Egytian prince, maybe a servant, a Pharoah. None can really say but surely like any other undead creature it's powers
can be harvested. Dracula has always had a mummy at his disposal to impede the impending encounters with Belmont blood but surely Onaga would want another pawn in his
already vast army.

Frankenstein
The monster was a creation of Dr. Frankenstein is composed of the exhumed bodies of executed criminals. A lifeless shell now, he could be revived if there was a surplus of
soul energy fused with the residual electricity that comes from lightning storms. Dracula's servant Shaft notices new warriors in his domain that may perfect to supply
all that he would need to fuel Frankensteins resting corpses, Ermac and Raiden.

Golem
An earth elemental, this behemoth can crush any unfortunate wanderers who cross his path. Medusa keeps the Golem at her side knowing that he is immune to her powers even though
it was her power that transformed him originally into the monolithic demon. He is a subordinate of Medusa but his alliance is to Dracula first and foremost this is unless Medusa
was to offer a way for him to regain his original form.


Death
It was through the Reaper that Matthias Cronquvist was able to obtain the Crimson Stone and make him cursed for all eternity as Dracula. Knowing that his lord is vulnerable he takes
the guise of a dark monk named Zead (who's Zead, Zead's dead) in order to get the specter Scorpion to carry out his plans. In exchange he will help Scorpion get revenge on his
family's murderer Quan Chi. Scorpion is but the first of many that Death is looking to draw into his company.

Dracula
The slumbering prince of evil is being imbued by the malice caused by Mortal Kombat. If he awakens he could finally have the power to rid himself of the Belmonts and plunge the world
into darkness. He would thereby extract the revenge on humanity for their judgment of him and the sentencing of his wife. He will need to complete the power of the Crimson Stone making
it into the Philosopher's Stone.

The Forgotten One Being
The power that Dracula wields through the stone is affected by the the assemble force teaming from the Kamidogu that Onaga wishes to obtain. With this power it would only take the power
of magical orbs obtained when warriors or monsters die and their essence escapes the flesh to cause a great catastrophe. If these forces combine a vergence of immense destruction could turn reality inside out.

Now, do you think it can work?

those are some pretty interesting character profiles.  i think you can piece together a good story with those.  i'd be interested to see how the Chaotic Realm fits within the multi-realms of Mortal Kombat.

        YES!!! Thank you. See you get it. I don't see why others don't. The two series are very good compliments to each other. The potential is there for it to work. In the end that is all I am trying to get at here, the possibility.

You have blood, gore, evil warlords, a dark ambiance, dragons, monsters, vampires, death, rebirth and connections that can merge these two series quite amicably. Dracula and Onaga are mirror images of each other. Medusa can disable the same way Sub-Zero can. Death looks like Havik and Scorpion. It can work. The only thing is how to do the fighting styles for some of the characters. Kicks on Dracula and Frankenstein just doesn't seem
to fit the cannon or feel of Castlevania. That is the one problem I see.

oh oops, i thought you were planning on writing a fan fiction for them.  but since Judgment came out, i have wondered at the possibility of doing a Mortal Kombat vs Castlevania.  i have to say it would "at least" work as well as Mortal Kombat vs DC.  it would be fun to switch between MK and Castlevania levels throughout the tournament.

I was thinking about possible ideas for stages. There was a stage in MK Deception where you start out on an island with trees and then the trees turn into snakes. I was thinking there could be a stage where you switch between the Pit and the crumbling bridge from CV. Or a mish mash between the Warrior's Shrine and Medusa's Lair from LOI. Maybe a Dungeon area/Goro's lair. Palace Gate from MKI/ Castle Entrance from CVI. Or the Courtyard with Audience and the Colosseum.

Thank you. The whole idea behind this is the whole dark, monster, gore, blood, magic, death whatever connections that bind these two series together and endear us players to each respective series. I honestly think that this is an idea that allows MK to progress and stay true to its
contraversial impact where DC Universe didn't do that. As for Castlevania, it allows the series to have a legit serious and mature fighting title in its lineup and help us to build on what Judgement could have been.

I hope and pray that fans and developers would someday get behind this idea.

Since the later Mortal Kombat uses weapons, it would be awsome to see the CV characters to use their subweapons as alternate weapons; this way, the Belmont cast would just be guys with whips.

     Yeah, I am sorry you are right I should have posted the topic in a less misleading fashion much like the way I did at the Mortal Kombat Nexus Forum. The title of that topic was "Do you think this works?" I am just very high on the notion that this game can work (well I am just high anyway and yet I don't Smoke trees but that is besides the point). Back when I first posted this topic, some of the people on this site thought that if these two series were Pitted against each other would be a desecration of Castlevania. There was a person who even vowed to commit suicide if the game was made (imagine that someone commits Hara-Kiri over a game about fatalities.) I just wanted to show them that this could be done right and be a great boosting to both series, thus saving some lives if this idea ever happened.

Anyway I am going to post more ideas as I think of them.

A couple more ideas I wanted to add on here.

When Medusa has a decapitation fatality done to her if her head is held up and faces the camera she will open her eyes and petrify the camera.

If Scorpion wins a match you could have Dan Forden say Toasty after his fatality but then have Scorpion kick him out of the screen with Forden screaming in fatality wrenching fashion and Scorpion run up to the camera and he will say "Get the *&%# out of here!!!!!"

When the Forgotten One Being wins his match he will come up to the camera and look at the camera with his darken pupils as they get closer and closer to the camera until all you see is the dark of the pupil.

I was watching a fan-made Mortal Kombat ending sequence interactive video that had a lot of cool, weird, erotic and funny endings to it. The one I just mentioned with good ol' connery had him say "You the man dog!" It was probably cut short for that one ending sequence but it was funny to see. Look it up whenever you feel like a laugh or two. I don't know what it's called and I saw this almost six years ago. But I still remember it!

I was thinking about it and the lizards in Castlevania could have a tie in with Reptile, and the two Chameleons in Mortal Kombat.
