It saddens me how on the last few games to use the classic Castlevania logo (Chronicles, COTM, Adventure ReBirth), the sharp, pointed V is absent. Why? :( Whyyyyy? Gave the logo a really cool flair (and also caused people to type it CastleVania—even the CV64 OST uses this rendering for the bonus track "Melodies of CastleVania").

Doesn't look as weird, though, as the lowercase C on the top label of the original Castlevania cart.

Ah, the pointed V...how I do miss it. I have COTM in the bottom of my DS right now. The short V looks pretty strange. The longer one just makes it look nicer, but it probably had to be removed for the subtitle.

stabbing V or not... I think they should bring back the original logo... Lords of Shadows is a PERFECT opportunity to do that. But instead they're going for pretty much the same logo used in all those IGA games. Makes NO sense. They want a fresh start, but that logo screams IGA.

I miss the old logo waaaaaay toooooo muuuuuch  :'( Wheneven I looked at it, the pointed V always screamed of Dracula's fangs ready to bite into the next player foolish enough to pick up the cart without knowing what he or she was getting into. I also miss the spear-shaped "C" at the start of the game title as well *SIGH* Good times.  :)

I think I'll have my country of portugal steal that V. I mean, We do have a Castle "Viana" over there. Albiet it's actual called "Viana do Castelo". Just food for thought. Oh and my cousins name was Vania. XD

That is cool, yeah, but I kind of like the cross 't' from the Aria of Sorrow and Harmony of Dissonance logos more, as well as the somewhat messy backgrounds of a flurry of bats or a castle and bats that they have.

As much as I like the sharp V, and the cross T, the fact of the matter is a logo needs to have a singular point of interest, and they're going with the crescent-moon C for now. Progress > Regress to companies, and this is another example of that thinking.

Sad, my Chronicles OST says "Castlevania" in all those spots, including on the back of the obi strip. I want the silly typo. :<

Nazrath: I'm just commenting on more recent games that do use the classic logo, like the ReBirth game. It just kind of perplexes me why ReBirth, Circle of the Moon, and Chronicles all don't have the pointed V. It's a sad detail to be missing. :<

Edit: Speaking of the Chronicles OST... What's the deal with the "PS移植版未使用" text after "Load BGM"? What does it even mean? I figure it says something about the PlayStation, but I've no idea what it's actually saying, ha. Also, where in the game do you even hear the song (if it's even in there)? I can't recall, and can only think of hearing it on the soundtrack.

This is a Initial Lot. The erratum was corrected by the Second Lot.

This is a meaning "not used PS port". But, It is possible to listen in the sound test.
It is inaccurate.

I noticed that they mostly went with the unchanged C for ages. before it was more of a forbidden doornob shape, now it's more of a crescent moon shape. The new C looks great, but I'm still baffled by the removal of the V. I mean, the V is like a fang, the stabbing T is like a Stake or cross. I figured they should stick with all three styles.

I think I'll start referring to the series as Castle bania from this point onward.

This is a meaning "not used PS port". But, It is possible to listen in the sound test.

Thanks for clearing that up. I've wondered for years.

I still don't know what purpose "Load BGM" serves. Is it a song played while the X68000 boots up the game?
