For me, my favorite part was the Cornell battle. It was the most tense part of the game for me, especially since I had very little life left when I started.

Brauner's death scene was pretty cool. Not Castlevania at all, but it was pretty neat to see.

I liked Gabriel smirking then letting go of the combat cross when he was having a tug-of-war with the butcher.

And, as already mentioned, I loved seeing the castle looming large in the background. Actually, the overall scenery in this game was gorgeous. I really loved the green sky around Baba Yaga's place. It just looked beautiful, yet it made the environment look diseased and overtaken by evil at the same time.

Speaking of Baba Yaga, I liked the music box. Very reminiscent of the quirky stuff IGA puts in his games, except executed better.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

"Look upon Carmilla. Am I not BEAUTIFUL!?" haha..

oh yeah, the music box, I thought it was designed really well, seeing Baba looming over you.

I also loved seeing Slogra at the base of Draculas throne at the end. Makes me think they already have the 2nd game written :)

I really liked the whole Carmilla bit.  Her voice, the speech (there is no resurrection...) and of course her second form.

Cornell was great too.

It's funny that I'm actually trying to think of something specific I liked and I am coming up blank as I type this... I liked the game so that's strange...

Oh, I really did like the Necromancer's Abyss and the Titan Graveyard.

The light and dark magic system was excellent.

And I want to say I liked the other ending, and I really really did until the last minute of it...

HD vid of the ending/epilogue. So great!
Castlevania Lords of Shadow Epilogue Teaser Cutscene

And I just have to say, the reference in this game to Star Wars (Anakin/Vader's story) are astounding. The whole tale of saving one he loves, and falling from grace. And redemption, ofcourse, playing a very big part of that.

I would have to say the entire game :P.  Really though, I'm gonna say my favorite parts were the end of 5-1 when you first see the castle, and 8-1 (outer wall is the stage if i got the # wrong).  I stood stationary for easily 10 minutes on that cable connecting the outer parts to the central tower.  Oh and Carmilla.  Dunno about anyone else, but no way in hell would I have been as strong as Gabriel to withstand her offer of pleasure. (until seeing her dark lord form, that is).  These are all tied for 1st for me, with the beginning of 11-2 and the awakening of the Dracolith.  The entire time i was playing 11-1 everytime i caught a glimpse of that central tower i would think of how cool it would be if the thing that was in it would come to life.  Then voila!

BTW, been a long time lurker to this website for many years, and finally signed up to take part in forum discussion.  So, nice to meet everyone! I only have an Xbox 360 atm, but if anyone is looking for a friend to add for Castlevania: HD or any other game, my GT is Veyladrone

My favourite moment, and experience with this game, was the build up for the first meeting with vampires. When they first showed up was breath taking! A masterpiece! Zobek talks about vampires, it builds up, it builds up. BAM! "Vampires! This isn't going to be easy"
