My first Nintendo console was the NES (the first one). I was at some red headed kid's house down the block when I first played Super Mario Bros. At the time of course my Atari 2600 way paled in comparison. I can recall bugging my parents for one and finally getting one. My first two games were SMB of course since it came with it, I got two controllers and there was a list of games on the back of the box. I also know shortly after getting it my second game Pro Wrestling I would play for hours. Sadly, I never got to own all the great games I would have liked to have owned, but there was a Video Rental place called Show and Tell where I used to rent games, beat them, then return them. Plus my cousin owned an NES so I would always get him to sleep over and bring his games with him. I think maybe I had a total of 25 - 30 games. I didn't have many because I didn't have money as a kid nor would my Mom cater to buying me anything unless it was a holiday or my birthday. So getting a game like Double Dragon or Megaman 2 was rare for me. Though me and my brother both owned an NES and had two separate ones. One for each of us. Reason being is cause my brother was nasty and never shared anything. lol

Technically my first Nintendo console was the Super Nintendo, since the Nintendo we had was my dad's and he took it with him (which later became mine cause he didn't want it anymore). The original Nintendo was the first system I played.

I would watch my dad play the Nintendo all the time when I was really little. I remember the first actual game I tried was Super Mario Brothers. After that day, I mainly played Guantlet, Super Contra, Yoshi's Cookie, Clash at Demonhead, and Castlevania III out of the original games my dad owned.

He had other games (about 15 or so), but those were the ones I liked the most. Today, I currently have 30 Nintendo games, most of which are considered classics. I sadly no longer have the original Nintendo, but one I got off of Ebay. Why? My mom literally RUINED the original one. D:

I was first introduced to the NES back in the very late 80's when my family went to visit our cousins. I can tell you from that point on, those memories never faded even a fraction. Playing games like Super Mario Bros, Contra, Zelda 2, etc. I wouldn't be introduced to the Castlevania series until I saw my friends playing CV2. didn't know what to make of it until I got my hands on it. Those were some sweet times.  :)

NES was my first NES system after 2 Atari 2600's died on me, I now have nearly 300 games for said NES. Something about the games for this system charms the hell out of me, can't explain what it is exactly.

The controllers for the 5200 weren't exactly nice either, the games are huge, I've seen some at the place where I get my retro games.

NES, my brother and I got it for Christmas when I was 5 or 6. We got a few games with it. Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt. Super Mario Bros 2, and Double Dragon II were our favorites. A very short time later we got Super Mario Bros 3. Which took over as all time favorite NES game for us. When Kirby's Adventure came out it was an awesome time as well. We got a SNES in 1994 and I can say Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country were the most played games on that. I honestly didn't know about Castlevania games till I was a bit older. I'm 24 now. I probably got into the series when I was 13 or 14. Really dove in though.

I was oblivious to other systems, the NES was all I played for about 5 years. Mickey Mousecapade, Zelda II & Duck Hunt\Super Mario. Never got far in zelda, but it was my favorite. Every now and again there would be a chance to play another system in someone else's cold brick lined basement.

From 94-98, I begun to play it when people begun to forget about it. My older sister pointed out to me that there was another zelda on the 64. One year worth of law mowing got me the system and game. I remember luging the system box around while my mom purchased groceries.

This brought back some good memories!

Thanks for bringing this topic up btw  :D

I got my first NES when I was about 5-6 years old. My grandpa
had one actually that he would let me play and itwas awesome
my first time playing it!

I remember the first game I played was Mario or possibly the duck
hunting one with the gun attached to the NES that my granpa also played.

I never really was a fan of Zelda or Castlevania or even Final Fantasy
but I have played Zelda and Castlevania I did play a little of in later years.

I believe I got mine for Christmas as well possibly my Birthday.

Super Mario 2 and 3 were awesome when I first played them
and and still are today ;)

My first Nintendo console was the NES. I first played it back in 1995 when I was only 2 (I have photographic evidence). I don't really remember that but apparently I wasn't very good.

I don't remember a time when I didn't love Super Mario Bros 3, Duck Hunt, Megaman 3, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Unfortunately we didn't own any Castlevania games. As we never owned a Super Nintendo (I recall only seeing one once at a friends house, didn't know what it was at the time), I used to think the game Nintendo Consoles went from the NES and then to the N64.  :-\

Bought an NES with money I had saved in late fall of 1988. I probably first played one a year or more before that. It's the only console I ever really owned.

An NES clone was my first "Nintendo" Console. I got it when I was 8 years old and Contra Force was immediately becoming one my favorite game. I don't even know it was one of the worst Contra game back then. I used to play it with my brother and my friends, good memories.

I was a little kid, and my nieces had a SNES with Super Mario World which we used to play, (Yoshi = awesomeness) along with every commander keen on a pc. Later the SNES popped up at other friends houses aswell, with them at least having 1 mario game. I remember borrowing a SNES then and having mario all stars (again, with Yoshi!), DKC1, castlevania 4 and at least 1 other game along with it, and was a blast to play all of em.

Liked mario the best because it was the easiest to control and... it had Yoshi. DKC was also pretty fun, but got a lot harder in later stages, and when you ran out of lives, you had to complete several levels all over again, very noticeble in DKC. It had some great graphics and memorable tunes.
Castlevania was also pretty fun, i liked smacking enemies all over the place with the whip instead of having to stomp them, and the enemies were completely different, but simon didnt jump as good as mario, i really hated those fish-man-thingies (rage, rage, rage  >:() and... there was no yoshi :P

My first own nintendo was actually a N64. I wanted to buy a snes myself, along with super mario kart and these games to begin with, but my dad insisted on buying me and my little brother a N64 with Mario Kart 64. (it was the summer of 1997, it was kinda new in europe) He got us a N64, even if the controller looks strange (joystick AND a D-pad?) and the games were 3D while we preferred cartoony 2d games :P.

But after a race in mario kart 64, i was sold. It was the most played game for me along with DK64 and Road Rash 64. I remember playing the first Cup to death with a friend, the tracks are still etched into my mind. Nostalgic :D Later, there was also castlevania 64 which i wanted for christmas, but rumour was that it wasnt very good and had awkward controls and camera, so i asked SM64 instead, but knowing and being dissapointed that it didnt had Yoshi as a playable character in it. The camera was also pretty annoying here. Then we jumped to the PS2, again, insisted by my dad, and later followed by a Xbox 360.

not really mine, but a friend introduced me to video games when I was about 5 or 6 back in '95 - 96, he usually ask me to their house to play, we always play legos and the power rangers action figures including the complete set of zords and the extra zords.., one day he showed me his new console, SNES with mario kart in it, we played, after that I saw Zelda, then my addiction began. I don't know anything about cheating or game guides then so I was always stuck at some point in the game, but I was completely mesmerized by the world of Link.

Pfft. I had the original Game Boy as my first Video Game System. I remember the first game I ever played was Super Mario Land 2: Six Gold Coins. It was really, really hard for me at the time, but now I can breeze through it. Link's Awakening was another good one.

The first like... Home console I owned was the N64. It was great, especially Donkey Kong 64, Ocarina of Time and Banjo Tooie.
