Symphony of the Night Succubus or Lament of Innocence Succubus

Succubi are a common enemy that have appeared in Castlevania, but there are two who appeared as supporting characters who took the role of a seductive villainess and had their own cool artwork drawn by Ayami Kojima. Anyways the point of this poll is to discuss which succubus character you think was the best.

Symphony of the Night Succubus: Appears in Alucard's nightmare where she takes the form of his dead mother who was burned as a witch, and tries to seduce him to the side of evil by changing his mother's final words to the condemnation of humans. When Alucard breaks free of her spell he fights and defeats her, then banishes her to the dream realm as punishment for defiling the memory of his mother.

Lament of Innocence Succubus: Appears in the Ghostly Theater where she disguises as Leon's fiance Sara and attempts to murder him by stabbing him in the back. Leon doesn't fall for her trap and she reveals herself stating that she wanted him to die without suffering because she was attracted to him, but changed her mind because he would look even more handsome in pain. After Leon defeats her she reveals the truth about Rinaldo before disappearing into flower pedals.

My vote goes for the red-headed one in Symphony of the Night. She may have been a lot weaker then the blonde one from lament of Innocence, but there's something about her that I find more alluring. She was really cruel for taking the form of Alucard's dead mother to try and trick him, and Alucard was justified in his punishment for her. Plus it's more appropriet that she is fought in a dream, because according to mythology succubi attack men in their dreams. Plus you gotta love a girl who flashes her boobs to try and distract the main hero while fighting him.  ;)

I think the SotN Succubus is an all-around better concept. As you stated, she attacked Alucard in his dreams which is their nature to do so. She was good on the PSX, but when we got the PSP version, she became in my mind, even more seductive (and a little more dirty too). And her speech to Alucard while she was in desguise more closly matched the final words Alucard's true mother had said to him.

I wasn't all that impressed with the LoI Succubus as her voice-acting was way over the top and did not match the 3D movements of the character herself. At all. It was painful and somewhat embarrassing to watch and listen to her laugh like a psycho. If the voice-acting was done in a more toned down and seductive maner, then the blond Succubus would've been just as awesome, but it crapped out like cheese. So my vote goes to the alluring redheaded vixen diva.

Even thought the PSP SotN succubus had better scripting, I perfered her voice on the PSX version of SotN. She had such an evil orgasmic voice that fit the whole sex demon concept. I especially liked her death cry when Alucard killed her. Though her script on the PSP was a lot better.

Actually, in the PSX version, when you beat her, it sounds like she was having an orgasm where as in the PSP version, she actually screams in horror, which is how it should be when someone is dying.

I agree, but I'm just saying that at the end of the battle she should have screamed instead of moaning like she just had an orgasm.

If a Succubus is going to die, then she should scream in horror. If she's gonna moan in extacy, then there should be a hidden button configuration that will show her banging Alucard in his dream.  :-X

They're both annoying as fuck with terrible voice performances. The fight in SotN in particular was just pathetic, as were most of the boss battles in that game.

Agreed.  I'm a big fan of SotN, but when discussing the game, I can't for the life of me remember alot of the boss battles.  Some were pretty forgettable.

I'm kinda torn though,I liked and despised both of the characters. But at the same time, they both had some nifty plot elements. The PS1 one though was much more memorable, but the second one thoguh had the ptotnetial to be way better simply because of her own backstory connected to Rinaldo's tragic fate with his daughter.

Maybe she screamed in extacy because she enjoyed being killed? She dresses like somebody who'd be into S&M. ;)

You really like malformed pointy ears?
I'll take the redhead.  At least the fact that she wasn't drawn full-body can give me the benefit of the doubt as to her having ridiculously long Toenails (did you see the ones on the LoI one?  I wouldn't want those scratching around).
