Topic: I had this sort of revelation of a future cv...

Man I can't believe things sometimes...I dreamed through an ENTIRE castlevania game last night, and I remember almost everything I "played"..from the beginning to the end...and...it was the Absolutely best castlevania game I could imagine, so I would like to share this experience through a summary.. please read if you wish, as I think this "revelation" as I call it, would be the ultimate CV game:

main story(as I remembered):

main character: Claudius Morris, which is the son of Richter Belmont, possessed unmatched fighting skills and bravery, but he had forgotten his Belmont identity and thus he lived as an outlaw fighting for his own living...

Arikado(later transformed into his orignal appearance) was also in the game, and had a very important role: he had started an investigation team fighting against the supernatural beings of the world. He founds claudius and tells him about his belmont background, about the power of the whip etc..
Claudius doubts his story..until the village hears about a powerful vamprie named Augustus( I got this picture of him in my head(http://download.minitokyo.net/Castlevania.273767.jpg) who has risen an army of the undead and possessed the powers of Dracula.

Convinced that something needs to be done, Claudius sets to explore the world of Castlevania..the vampire killer whip is sealed by magic created by Augustus in his castle, and Claudius intends to find it.

When Claudius finally faces the vampire augustus powers has grown to incredible levels, combining his and dracula's powers together makes him almost invincible... Arikado avoids combat against augustus at all cost, since he does not wish to transform to his original shape, since it would risk his soul to become one with his father(dracula)...

neverless Arikado does not wish to risk Claudius life against agustus, so he prevents Claudius from fighting, and takes the battle himself.
Augustus successfully slay Arikado after a long fight, resulting him to go completely consumed by his narcissism..however his laugh turns into despair...Arikado resurrects into Alucard(Alucard laughts cruely with Metarmophorsis II soundtrack in the background as he rises lol=p), causing Augustus to panic..alucard brutally slays him(impaling augustus) and thus unleashes the powers of dracula..the castle falls into pieces, and Claudius finds the whip within the ruins of Augustus castle..

with that said, Alucard is slowly turning to the side of his father..and the only way to prevent this is if Claudius(he now acknowledge Belmont as his name) defeats Dracula himself. Claudius enters the real castle which has risen after the defeat of augustus...all hope rests with Claudius and his whip from there...

gameplay

The gameplay was supreme, with elements combined from botth super CV IV and sotn.. many combos, skills and deadly grabs were unlockable, his appearance changed in accordance to what you had equipped, the subweapons were the only magic items you could have(as it should be for the belmont family).. 

the supweapons changed it's ability depending on the "source system" it had; fire, water, dakrness, light etc....

Combos were brutal and advanced... many weapons were selectable but the whip remained best if one could handle it good..

the game was enormous. from fighting in forests and undead places to graveyards to the castle.. it was much similar to super Cv IV in this aspect..very "castlevanian".
the enemies were similar, combined with new ones.

soundrack

I remember it being marvelous..many arranged versions from the Super CV IV and the nes games, combined with LoI and sotn genre...............................inc redible dream.. 

the artwork was completely kojima as I recall it....

I believe it. I've also drempt up several Cv games in my life. The best one I can remember is a 2.5D version of SCV4 except with more stages in it. Simon had his CV4 outfit but the attention to detale and the fact that all this was looking like something only the PS3 or XBOX 360 could put out was beautiful.

You're game dream sounds very involved (story-wise) and it seems better then half the sutff that IGA has cranked out. Plus you have a Belmont going after Dracula (Wee-Hee).

I wonder how many of us have had such dreams?
Mine took place in modern times with a 2.5D format similar to Bloodlines with many locations all over the world.
There were two playable characters.
The Belmont was a former priest that lost his faith in God and worked as a mercenary.
He used the whip and knives, but the whip had lost it's power because of his loss of faith and rejection of his family legacy.
The other was his younger sister who was an accomplished martial artist.
Belmont's sub weapons were variations of most of the classic ones, but also included some new ones.
No hearts, you got the items themselves as enemy drops or bought them at shops.

In contrast, she has access to lots of 'martial arts' weapons and can perform combos with the right button presses.
She would also have a ki meter that fueled special moves a`la Art of Fighting.
I've forgotten most of the stages, but I do remember one that was in a stadium in the US during a heavy metal concert and one on the top of a train in the Alps.
Some of these ideas ended up being used in later games, but I dreamed it in early 1996 when I was pissed about the new CV not having a Belmont as the main character.

wish I could remember the soundtrack entirely..judging from what I remember I think that some arranged versions of super Cv IV would enter the spotlight in the game..if they were composed appropiately

Oh I agree!! Best way to recall what you've seen in your dreams! It would alow us to take CV out of our dreams and bring them into reality.

A great artist I watch over at DA named sergevirusx( warning, slightly NSFW)  actually had an interesting idea for a Castlevania story.

It was just a bare bones idea, but it had potential.

Bernard Belmont a official of the German police in the 1943 year is sending to a little town in Romania about the many army soldiers that have disappeared or are dead, Bernard dont know about his ancient legacy and discovers from a little girl named Maria that the one responsible for the soldier massacre is a old count in a old and horrible castle...

And even had a few images of the fan Belmont in question.

So... We'd have a Nazi Belmont? I mean, if he's an official of the German police in 1943 then he must be. I don't know about you, but I'd never want to see one of the heroes of Castlevania as a Nazi.

Yeah this was my thought. Though I still carry the sentiment that PoR didn't use the WWII setting nearly as well as it could have, not to mention totally missing the fightin'-'round-the-world concept. I mean, it's a sequel to Bloodlines!
