So who's getting one?

I prolly will since I'm a sucker for Nintendo handheld devices, and the inevitable BADASS LIBRARY OF GAMES that will soon follow after launch. But the price tag ($249) is kinda OUCH, and Nintendo most likely already has a 3DS-slim version in the works...

I'll stick with my DS, my GBA, and my PSP for my handheld needs, the only thing this has that might be up my alley is a Virtual Console for Gameboy titles (I prefer to track down original carts/CD's on anything I have). Not to mention I'm no fan of 3D so no thanks Nintendo, I'll continue supporting your other handhelds.

I'll get one eventually for RE: Revelations and MM: Legends 3, but not right off the bat. I'm waiting for more substantial titles, not to mention the inevitable "slim" version and/or price drops.

I really, really want Sega to make a Panzer Dragoon for it, though.

I have the 3DS pre-ordered, but now I'm not so sure I'm going to get it. There's a possibility (rumor) that a game is going to get released for the Playstation 3 outside of Japan I kind of want, so I might buy a PS3 instead.

The concept for the 3DS sounds cool to me and plus I want the new Kingdom Hearts game. It's one of the game series I follow and would pick up a game system just for the game. Eventually I'd get more games for it anyway like all the other systems/handhelds I've done that for, like when I got the DS for Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow.  ;)

I'll hold off on buying a 3DS and wait and see what types of games come out for it.

I'll probably wait a bit, although the line up of games coming out this year looks pretty good. However, I'll follow where ever Castlevania goes. Although the 3DS does look more appealing than the NGP, so I'm hoping that Konami sticks with the 3DS.

It does have a slider that lets you turn the 3D effect off.

3–5 hours battery life, insane price for a handheld... Yeah, I'm interested in the 3DS, but I'm gonna wait for a new model and price drop.

3-5 hours is fine. The PSP only gets about 4 hours of battery life. Sony may say 7 hours, but thats a load of bullshit, mine has never lasted more than about 5 even with minimum brightness. 3-5 hours is perfectly normal.

It's complete shit battery life. You'd have to play the thing with the adapter plugged in if you ever intend on playing it more than five hours at once, and apparently it takes a reeeaaally long time to charge from empty to full. And that's three to five hours; it could very well only last three or four. And with games like Ocarina of Time and what I expect to be a pretty awesome game library with games you'd wanna play for plenty of hours at a time, 3–5 doesn't cut it.

We wouldn't have to worry about batterylife if they would just give us a "proper" powersource for our handhelds in the first place. I almost never bother with batteries since I use wall outlets.

I will most likely be getting one mostly because i want to play 1 perticular Resident Evil game thats coming out for it.

I will not however get it upon its release but will get it "eventually".

Oh don't worry Oralox, I'm sure all the naysayyers will turn around once they actually have a hands-on impression. That's what all the game sites are saying; you can't really make a final judgment until you literally have the thing in your hands. That said, I know once I demo it a week before release I'll be convinced that it's a must-buy. And if 3D isn't your thing you can just shut the effect off. The only real downside is the price (which will drop eventually)

People were saying the same stuff when the DS slim was revealed, even when the GBA-SP was revealed too, "I'll stick with the original kthnx." Nowadays, does anybody still use a 1st gen DS to play their games? That thing is ancient-looking lmao.

also the inevitable new Mario Bros was recently confirmed, which will break all sorts of records no doubt.
