Seriously. There was so much potential with the design that they didn't tap.

OoE felt like a great mix of old and new, they should definitely experiment with that format a lot more. More areas like the training hall would be perfect, the Metroidvanias need a stronger sense of platforming.

What OOE nailed completely was the atmosphere, god I loved the overall feeling of the game (sans some zamba and jazz music) the graphis the art style and the locations. I didn't say EVERY Castlevania should be like that, but Ecclesia was pitch perfect in itself because of the setting and tone of itself.

One instrument Castlevania definitely needs more of is the theremin. There was some of it in Hard Won Nobility and that made it one of the game's best songs.

I wish someone was able to romhack all the OOE stages together into a single big one. Just to admire how more difficult it would be the wilderness in comparison to Simon's Quest. Imagine if teleports were removed then...
