Belmonts never learned how/found the relic for swimming for a long time?

Could any Belmont swim before SotN? I don't recall if there were actual pools of water in Harmony or not.

Not true.  In the Luminous Cavern in the A castle there is a flooded area which needs to be drained using the floodgate key in order to get to Death.  I once tried to see if I could get to Death without draining the cavern.  I couldn't.  As soon as the water got above Juste's knees, his HP started to drop really fast.  So it would seem that Alucard and the Belmonts need a relic to get through flooded areas whereas Soma needs a certain soul.

Yah that was glitchy-as-hell at best.
And that wasn't 'swimming' it was 'walking underwater' and hurt like the Dickens.

I meant swimming like how Soma/Julius does it (although in DoS, the Julius Mode people sink and are magically able to breathe underwater somehow).
