Did Julius Do in Dracula with the Greatest Five?

ok, i can see the whole exchange in my minds eye.  about the whip calling forth the spirit of all of Julius's ancestors who fought Dracula.  they all get one final lick into Dracula and a chance to tell him off and help put him away for good.

Lament of Innocent, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia all tell us some kind of relationship that the whip has with the dead.  could it be building to that moment?

Based on info from the games:

-The final attack Julius used is unknown

-Dracula's power was separated from his castle, as the castle was eclipse-sealed by the Hakubas

-A Belnades and Alucard had assisted in the fight

-SPECULATION: Based on the fact that Dracula got a "second chance" as Soma, he may have found redemption at the end, and true redemption (more than what he experienced in SOTN) would indeed break Satan/Chaos's power over him.

Yeah, there's a decent chance he used Greatest Five. Maybe, but maybe not.

Greatest Five is really just a bit of fanservice thrown in. I don't think it's actually a power Belmonts have or anything.

Though the Belmonts get stronger with each generation (or so I remember) so maybe the might of previous Belmonts is added to the one currently wielding the whip.

i had thought of the Greatest Five as a physical manifestation of the whip's memory.  but then in Ecclesia, we saw Albus briefly speaking beyond the grave through the power of some blood samples of descendants of those who used the whip, so now i'm not sure what kind of connection the whip has with the spirit of those touched by it.  i feel another game will clear things up.

Heheh.  Man, there is absolutely no way any of us can know the answer to that.  I personally like to believe Julius finished off Dracula with the Diamond subweapon that first appeared in Simon's Quest.

I love how Greatest Five includes Juste (who fought a faded ghost of Dracula once), but excludes Christopher (Who fought Dracula twice as well as another Belmont).

IGA is too lazy to draw a single new sprite for Christopher  :P

Everything comes full circle

Yes, Igarashi is a known sprite artist after all.

They drew a new one for Simon in Greatest Five, anyway. If the concept came up again, they'd probably stick Christopher's ReBirth look in there. Maybe.

I'd like to think only Jonathan used the "Greatest 5" because he wasn't a full-blooded Belmont, so he required the help from his ancestors to attack Dracula in his moment of need.

But I won't be mad if the technique is used again in another game.

The Greatest Five is a dual crush, so Julius may have needed the help of Alucard or of the Belnades person.

Because the Greatest Five included Juste, I feel that Juste may yet have another game in him.

Harmony of that weird blue outline
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.
