When were those days, Claimh Solais lol? I can't recall CV1 or 2 looking all that great. Though 2 had a good mood to it.

...Super Castlevania 4.
...Rondo of Blood.
...Symphony of the Night.

...Just sayin'.

I don't think there were even Metal Gear games developed in the time frame stretching between those games.

Fixed, heh.

I did like the whole team shuffling thing Konami seemed to do at that time. Gave each title a batch fresh blood.
...Of course, when they did reuse a team, it was Rondo's, masters of their craft, and we got SoTN.

If only Konami could make something like this for the CV anniversary...nah...dream on...

It's quite unfair to compare those two, since before release of the MGS in 1997, there were only three games in the series. All of them were released somewhere around 1990 on the weak consoles, while CV games were released almost each year and on different, far more advanced consoles.

However, for it's time MG2:SS looked very good, especially given console it was released on. And in terms of gameplay and story it was far more advanced than any contemporary and some of future CV titles.

I don't think the Kojima book counts cause it's not CV only, and those tribute CDs kind of suck

How about a Castlevania game that evolves from the Super Castlevania IV style

Well 45% of you still favor some sort of rerelease --with more than half of those in favor of a Chronicles style update.  It surprises me Dracula's Curse is more favored than the CV1 & CV2 combo...  curious...

Well I dont know about everyone else, but im SICK of CV1. Its got over 9000 remakes and versions and updates- Im SICK of seeing it. Simon si just plain overrated by now quite frankly. The rest of the classicvanias need love too.

I would love a remade CV2 actually. I mean, if done right, they could basically turn it into a metroidvania. (conidering it is sort of the spiritual predecessor)

Honestly, both Simon's Quest and Dracula's Curse really deserve a remake.
