I still love nintendo. Mario, metroid, donkey kong, f-zero, Zelda and the return of kid Icarus, I love all those games. And the side games like Mario kart and smash bros are great too. Nintendos still doing what they always have done best and that's first party games. People act like nintendo did something wrong with the Wii for having so many weak third party games but that's nothing new. It's been like that since probably the N64. I love seeing what nintendo does and I'm very excited for the Wii U.

I wouldn't say I'm a nintendo fanboy though. I don't play anything they make, for example I'm not a huge Zelda fan, I don't play most of the new ones, in fact the last Zelda I played was minish cap and before that ocarina. I just think nintendo makes some pretty great games in general

Around the time the Wii first came out in '06 I believe, I started to lose interest. Actoolee it happened before that, around mid-time life cycle of the Gamecoob. I sold mine to a friend, and pretty much dedicated my time 100% to Sony.

But nowadays, my love for Nintendo has been restored, as I now own a Wii & it's successor is next. I have all Nintendo handhelds (which is a gift & a curse) I just hope the 3DS doesn't become a remake-machine with all the rereleases they're making.

I haven't been up-to-date with most of their franchises tho. never got into Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, etc. I guess I'll always prefer the classics (link to the past is still the best Zelda)

I'm still a Nintendo fan. I don't think that's ever going to change. All the great classics came out on said systems (not counting the Sega ones). I'm not really thrilled with the way they are taking our classic series' nowadays but I can alway fall back on the older titles and still have a blast.

I like Nintendo, as they so great love to their series, and don't seem the time to drastically reboot something for the sake. I mean, I'd lament if they even do that to Mario or Kirby. But, as a gamer, I fell out of touch with them when the path between PS1 and N64 rose up and I choosed PS1 over N64. I'm not sad I did, as back then, I didn't care for the way the 3D Mario or LoZ games played. To me, some of it still feels awkward(those games, mind you). I basically skipped GCUBE, but I'm having a blast with Wii. The Super Mario Galaxy games were great.

Definitely with the N64.  I was a huge Atari fan at the time, and the Atari-bashing that the N64 brought about did a lot to kill Nintendo for me.  I adored the NES and SNES, and still do.  But I could never get into the ugly, bland textures of the N64 games.  I hated the controller too.  How idiotic is it that the controller has more hand-grips than gamers have hands?  I do like a handful of N64, Gamecube, and Wii games, but the overall quality is nowhere near that of the NES, in my opinion.

There's a difference between liking Nintendo and liking Nintendo franchises. I'm more inclined to the later.

Nintendo always did good portables. But they lost me with 3DS. It's not like I've saw the sucessor of the excelent DS, they did everything wrong with this portable (for me at least). I'll buy one eventually because of the said Nintendo games, but it'll not be my first option.

With consoles, Nintendo never had me, I played the games I wanted with the help of emulators, or a friend's console. But even if I had, Nintendo would have me lost with Wii. Motion controllers, Casual approach and No (decent) Online Service killed the console for me. Everything I want on the console I'll be waiting to play with Dolphin someday.

My video game carrer did start with the great nintendo entertainment system even bevor i was into c64 and amiga. For sure it did entertain me a lot of months.
Then there was the Snes. It was just love when i did put the cart of Super Mario World in it and played as long as my eyes started to burn. lol A link to the past...finished it so many times. and not to forget Cv 4 (:

but then, there was the n64 and nintendo was losing me...i was lost in mario 64. Still didnt finished it tho..not even on DS.lol dont know why i did even buy it...

just played ocarina of time and shadows of the empire many hours. this are 2 great games, so is goldeneye.
And i like to play all the "remakes" (new super mario, metroid, zelda game etc..) but im not anymore that into nintendo like i was 15years ago.
Ps1 came out and sony got my heart. ^^
but dont get me wrong, ill still buy all the nintendo consoles just cuz i wanna own every console. (:

As a Nintendo fanboy, I'll admit they make a lot of really stupid decisions and they really piss me off sometimes...but in the end, I still love the company, their consoles/handhelds, and their games. I doubt I'll ever stop loving Nintendo.

I have always been a fan of Nintendo with a huge exception. Nintendo does produce superior hardware. Make no mistake in that department. They don't recall units due to failed parts and overheating issues. They built solid devices that generally work the way you would want and expect.

They lost me when I out-grew their targeted age group. Yes I know many of you are chuckling and agreeing at this point and rightfully so. Nintendo only ever made one major mistake as far as I am concerned. They simply failed to realize that all those kids they sold games to in the beginning are still playing games and that we no longer want the same type of games that we did when we were like 10 years old. I am not saying they should stop targeting kids I am saying they should have catered to a broader age range as the fan-base matured.

When the only games available for Nintendo hardware are designed for children where does that leave older gamers? Gamers that want blood and gore or mature content with drug use and profanity. Certainly not with Nintendo.

If they would open the doors to a more mature content I would probably stick only to Nintendo hardware. God knows I am sick of Sony and Microsoft at this point. I have no plans to ever buy another console from either of those companies. I do own a Wii and since I have kids it does make an excellent family console. But as a gamer that has grown up I also want games for my age group. Something Nintendo does not currently offer.

I do plan to buy a Wii U again this will be a family console and I will probably only find myself playing it when the kids are around.

I didn't vote in this poll because like in other polls of late, it assumes that if you don't agree that things are bad then you're a mindless fanboy.

ANYWAY, Nintendo didn't lose me, at least not for good. When I was younger I had a SNES. It was awesome! I loved my games for it, and I got hours upon hours of enjoyment out of playing games like Donkey Kong Country, Mario World and Goof Troop with my brother and friends. Then one Christmas, my parents got me and my brother a Playstation. It has some of the greatest RPG games ever created in my opinion! People rant and rave about the obvious Final Fantasy 7, but there are so many BETTER games like Chrono Cross and Legend of the Dragoon. Steel Reign was a kickass tank game, Naughty Dog's Crash Bandicoot series was a favorite... I loved it. I didn't have a N64. So when Playstation 2 came out, I again got one for Christmas. This generation I missed the Gamecube. Playstation 2 is to this day my absolute favorite game console.

A few years later, I had finally bought a gamecube and some games. Turns out it was pretty awesome actually. It had nowhere near the games I was interested in as the PS2, but it had some that I really ended up enjoying. The N64 I got and played some of the games that were apparently the bomb when they came out. Evidently, most of them did not age well. Sad. Some did, but I still say Zelda OoT is horribly overhyped. Great game, but by no means earth-shattering. It's ALtTP in 3D. THAT game on the SNES was the game changer if anything for the series.

Anyway, so the Wii came out and looked rather pathetic in its library of available games. To this day, old people always get excited because you can BOWL on the Wii! Meh. Well, after playing Mario Galaxy at a friend's house, I got one. I HAD to have that game! Well since then I've found tons of great games! The Wii's best games are often the ones that get the least popular attention since they push the hell out of Wii-X games with miis and fitness. Some excellent THIRD PARTY games for the Wii:

A Boy and His Blob
Madworld
No More Heroes 1 AND ESPECIALLY 2
Red Steel 2
Monster Hunter Tri
Sonic Colors

Add in the great first party titles featuring classic characters such as the Mario Galaxy games, Mario Brothers Wii, Kirby, Metroid, Donkey Kong Country and Goldeneye, and you've got one kickass Nintendo system! I think bashers either don't understand what a good game is, or just don't look beyond the piles of trash games that come out for the system. It's by far the best Nintendo's done in years. It has TONS of games to appeal to people who don't play games, but it also has a lot of fun rewarding games for the serious gamer if you're willing to look for them. It's not all about Wii Fit. There are extraordinary games for this system too.

Granted, I have an Xbox 360, and this generation for the serious gamer there are a lot of good games for it to recommend as well. PS3 and Xbox360 mostly have exactly the same games, so it doesn't really matter between the two anyway. But my point is that the Wii is not JUST full of gimmicky sports and fitness games. It's a serious game console too. It's not full of games that are DARKER and GRITTIER like what people seem to go after these days, but it's home to some great fun games of all different varieties.

How absolutely juvenile. I mean, I love games (and movies) with blood, boobs, and profanity, but to oust a company on the basis that they don't provide such content is so damn retarded. Nintendo has ALWAYS been family-oriented. Video games were an extension of their toy ventures. It's unrealistic and flat-out dumb to think they'd suddenly throw out the family image they've had for so long and start producing smut.

And really... "I'm too old for that kiddie shit." Such a statement is one said only by those who need to grow the fuck up.

That said, I wish Nintendo would start making more "mature," dark, and moody games like they did with Super Metroid. They've yet to make a game quite like that. But to have Samus start throwing out F-bombs or flashing some tit... lol, OK.

Probably after the N64 came out. It just didn't have the same feel as the NES or SNES, I suppose. Its library of games and the prospect of 3D didn't really excite me as much as the old stuff. I really wanted to like the system, but it's by far the least-played console I own. From then on, they just haven't held my interest as well as they used to. 

I do have high hopes for the Wii U, though.

I still like Nintendo. They make games that are entertaining for all ages, a startling rarity in the sea of Circus Parties and Imagine Baybeez. Seems like the main problem is they end up competing with their own third party games. And that their multiplayer sidescrolling games haven't caught on with publishers outside of Ubisoft.

I'd like to get a 3DS, but that will have to wait for when I'm less in need of money and when they release the inevitable revisions. Not to mention RE: Revelations, which better not suck, and Mega Man Legends 3, which better not be canceled.
