Yet, they manage somehow combine elements of past games and "metroidvania" school together. Something that IGA wasn't able to do before OOE (which, as I heard, was developed with some of COTM team people). And this game was much better than HOD practically at everything.

COTM is my favorite "metroidvania" alongside OOE. And CV64 is one of my favorite games in the series, so KCEK was awesomes in my book.

Wasn't CotM one of like, the first GBA games? I remember buying it sometime around when the GBA first came out, 'les my memory is failing me. I also bought Pinobee, which was awesome.

I think it's kinda funny that CotM was the perfect blend of classic games and Metroidvanias, something IGA couldn't do, but the producer of CotM is called "Ko-G". Guy's a name stealer. :P

Konami producers seem to have a thing for hip abbreviations as nicknames.

Dave Cox more like D-COX.

i dont think cotm or ooe had a strong connection with the classic titles. they certainly didn't have the level design to uphold any of the prestige the classic titles had. BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPINION. funny typos: i typed cod instead of ooe at first.

Fuck this bickering, Castlevania games are good, ALL OF THEM, so what if the story doesn't agree with you its still fun.

This Topic is about what you hope to see at Gamerscon, not Flaming other games because you can't accept it.

The question some people should ask themselves is "What is a Castlevania game?"

Hush...all of you.  Konami could release a Castlevania game where you play as a little panda bear wearing a sundress that kills zombies with a rubber tree branch and you'd ALL play it.  Just admit it...

Well, one thing we could be thankful for is rebirth, since that title barely had any reused sprites aside from the fleaman's. And despite the music being reused from other titles, though most of them were obscure songs (except vampire killer and a few others) that didn't really play in any stages before.

Yeah, ReBirth was awesome. And prooved that classic formula still could work pretty well. One just need to be creative enough, when using it.

While I loved selection of music (especially A Lullaby Sent to the Devils) I didn't like it's "genesis-like" arrangement. But it's personal thing, I just have some sort of "allergy" to the Genesis sound. It's really jarring and too clank for me. I wish they used SNES sound as an inspiration for the arrangements.

I liked the entire OST of ReBirth except Load BGM. WHY did they use that song?

And because of DXC I keep thinking of Load BGM and Demon Seed as a pair because of where they're used in the game, and their placement on the soundtrack... I think Demon Seed would have been in cool in its place.

Beats me. If you ask me, they should've used Lost Painting, which is one of the songs they decided not to use for some reason.

Yeah, and Battle of the Holy was more deserving of the first stage theme, but they didn't use that one either. -_-
