Man, this looks bad. Usually, with 3D remakes of 2D brawlers, the hit detection is horrible. The Turtles in Time remake had this problem. Sometimes, that, with worse control, just makes the games totally less fun than the originals. From watching the video, this one looks just as wonky. Sad, I love Double Dragon, and if any series deserves to STILL exist, it's that one, but this is the wrong way to do it. For one, if you are going to do the 2.5D brawler, work on hit detection and control FIRST. Next, damn, the character designs are ass. Billy and Jimmy only slightly resemble their former selves(they got douchy haircuts, but their clothes are near the same to their original clothes). Linda, I don't know what to think about(S&M stripper cop??) and I have no idea in hell who all the other characters are(they don't even closely resemble the other enemies from the original). I know I might sound like a nostalgia-smitten fool, but, somethings you shouldn't change. The look of certain characters, from the 80s, especially in a game like Double Dragon, should never be modernized. Some of the charm came from the 80s-ness of the designs. I remember watching Barry Gordy's The Last Dragon, and that scene where they are all fighting in the dance club, all the villains(the looks were totally on par to the same style Double Dragon aimed for), that was a totally 80s thing. Hell, as I've said before, I totally imagined a DD movie to be part The Last Dragon and part The Warriors(maybe with a dash of Streets of Fire), and most definitely not that crap we got in the 90s(where Scott Wolf was one of the Lee brothers that, well, didn't even fight).
