Vampires and their hair

I'm new to the series and played just several games and there's something that's caught my attention. In LoS Ressurection Gabriel's hair turns white/light gray (hard to say, seems white in the cinematic but is grey in the epilogue) when he absorbs Forgotten One's power. The way I take it, demonic power awakened his vampiric powers, so is white hair from being a vampire or from demonic power? Because in the original series both Dracula and Alucard had white hair, and Soma too. So, anyone, enlighten me?

I believe you're a robot/spambot. I've seen several of "you" with the same "only at the castle gate" title, so I'll be informing the moderators immediately. Your days are numbered, pal.

But to answer the question, it's just a typical design choice.

Nice try, genius. A robot? -_\\
What was supposed to do about the status if it is the standard one?
Besides why would a robot wonder about someone's haircolor?
And how exactly is this a spam?

So how come a bunch of newbies have been showing up lately all with the same "only at the castle gate" title?

Either that or you're just some weird kid that has nothing better to do than keep switching usernames.

Because it is a STANDARD STATUS. You get it automatically once you register!

I'm talkin about how a few of you all use the same "only at the castle gate" title which made me a little suspicious, as if youre all the same person or come from the same place or whatever.

Anyway Gabes hair looks white cuz of the lighting & atmosphere, and most of the vamps in cv have white hair. No big deal.

Way to mistreat the new guy, people!
**ahem**
Please excuse my good friends, here. They did not know I changed the standard status, and are acting funny as a result.

Everyone else: Newcomers all have a standard status upon registering, which is the 'only at the castle gate...' personal sentence. So any newcomer, whether a human or a bot, will have that.

Now back to the topic:
I think that the amount of 'silver/gray' on a vampire's hair, depending on what type of vampire it is, shows its age. Of course, both Drac and Alucard have magic powers that allow them to shapeshift and disguise themselves... so they will never need a stylist for their hair, hahaha.

Even in the Coppola Dracula movie, Drac has alternate shapes and hairstyles to match each.

Yeah, I do believe it seems to indicate age. It might be a loose reference and due more to style and art than anything, however, we do see Alucard in CV3 has black hair, while his later much older self sports a sort of platinum blonde.

The big count himself of course has pretty much pure silver. Though Dracula has had some appearances with others; black, brown, etc. Hair color is nothing a little black magic can't change I'd imagine.

As for LoS... The scene where he takes The Forgotten One's powers is a "black and white" ultra contrast style. I'm not exactly sure you could say either way. Kind of hard to tell.

Dracula even had red hair at one point. It was either SCV4 or the CV X68000 game. I'd have to look at the sprites again.

Might have been Bloodlines. I was thinking brown for Bloodlines, but it could very well have been more orange/red given the Genesis' bright and vibrant color palette.

I think both SCV4 & Bloodlines have a red-haired drac. Incidentally in many cultures red hair is a prime indicator of vampirism.

In Japan, white hair is associated with Youkai (or demons if you prefer),or anybody who possess demonic powers or traits. So I guess that explains why some Castlevania characters have white hair.
In Dracula's case I think it has to do with his age.Another theory would be that it has to do with his the way he was resurrected. If he's resurrected normally every 100 years his hair would black and his appearance would be of a middle aged man. When he's resurrected outside the 100 year cycle his hair is white and he looks much older. Maybe it's because  he's somewhat weaker when he's resurrected prematurely.

I prefer Jaukai.
