I think the MvC series is awesome, I have no idea wtf these other guys are talking about.
I have yet to play the latest Mortal Kombat, though I plan to soon.
The first 2 Smash Bros. were great, but I think Brawl is a step down from Melee.
I have the first BlazBlue but this series is pretty much Guilty Gear all over again.
I will be getting Street Fighter X Tekken whenever that comes out.
Third Strike Online will keep me occupied until then.

I'm particularly fond of Namco's fighting games, especially the Soul series.
As for fighting games that I hate, for some reason I can't bring myself to hate any of them. Though I don't and will never care about licensed anime fighting games, so I think that's pretty close.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

I like most SNK's fighting games, especially the KoF series.

Street Fighter and Namco's fighting games are not really my cup of tea.

Always liked the Capcom fighters myself... esp. the Marvel crossovers, although that's more to me being a Marvel fan than an SF fan. Would love to see UMVC3 get a PC release. From what I've seen of the trailers it plays much like the other older titles. MVC2 was good and all, but there was something off about it - mostly the music, completely naff IMO... and there was no plotline whatsoever, whereas with the other MVC/X-Men/Marvel titles there was at least some semblance of Marvel-type plot, whether Onslaught, Apocalypse, or Magneto trying to take over the universe. Seems they've rectified this with MVC3 - with Galactus - awesome.

Worst Street Fighter.... is Street Fighter.

that's too bad, MvC3 plays nothing like the first two, its goes on a simplified layout (which is good) but the engine still has its flaws, like overly easy projectile spamming and worst of all, Air cripple, If your opponent gets you into an air combo and combos into a hype combo, you can't do jack cause they removed the Baroque (TvC) and Air Guard (good fighting games).
the game is Really fun for about a week until it gets old. If UMvC3 shows some drastics improvements I might give it a look, but as far as I've seen, UMvC3 isn't work the money....

I hate mortal kombat II and I think I'm the only guy on the planet that does. You can't sit down and play it. Getting good at it for the most part means glitching out the computer. The first one and 3 are much better fighting games in my opinion. Three has the nice combo system and one is more traditional of 2d fighters with an AI that gradually gets tougher as the game goes on.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 sucks.
Mortal Kombat (new one) is good
SFIV is alright (the one I play most)
Smash Bros is fun.
SF2 is best.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow sucks
DmC: Devil may Cry is the equivalent of trailer trash

True. It is a force to be reckoned with. Just trying to fight an opponent and win even one round is a near-impossibility. However if this game never came out then neither would all it's squeals and crossovers. In terms of playability, this game is terrible. In terms of bringing fourth an ever-increasingly popular and incredible saga, this game takes the top slot.

Street Fighter 1 would be a great Remake since its the most important to the core story.

You are not alone. I too dislike MKII because of it awful AI and I couldn't enjoy physics of the game unlike MK1 and MK3. MKII just feels uncomfortable to me.
Though my devotion to the MK franchise began with this game. Funny how things turned out later.

It's horrible, horrible game.
The worst part is controls. Playing in this game is like playing on the broken joypad, where every single button malfunctions and misread your commands.
Hitboxes are hilarious iin this game and reminds me about some crazy broken Mugen characters.

Kinda surprising that nobody has mentioned any doujin fighting games or self-made fighting games like Melty Blood, Big Bang Beat, Vanguard Princess and the like...

Melty Blood is Awesome, especially the newest version (act something), didn't play the others...
Gundam Battle assualt 2 was awesome.... but that game crashes every emulator I've tried it on, good thing I've got a year or so to play it on Psone.
The Fist of the North Star Game was really good (the Arc system works version)
and of Course, Jojo's Bizarre adventure for the CPS3/PS2 was Baus.
DBZ Budokai 3 was great, I'm just dissapointed their doing that shitty Tenkaichi format for all their games now...

I usually give em a chance, but I'm usually discouraged to play anime/mange based games since alot of them are terrible...
