The obvious answer may be Trevor, but think about it... The Belmonts have 300+ years of fighting evil before Trevor was conceived. And none of that woulda been possible if it wasn't for Leon, so he gets all my credit and my vote. He also has some of the best ending dialogue in the series, and possibly in all of video games.

Sonia was supposed to be the progenitor of the clan & in theory she works, but... her butt on her sprite is too big.

Gabriel makes for an awesome template to establish the clan, he's strong and can probably beat any other Belmont in an arm wrestling match. Maybe not Simon but I digress. He has a cool outfit & his attitude towards creatures of the night is just boss. but there's A LOT of controversy there. I'm still waiting for him to "split himself in half," if ya get my drift  ;)

So who do you think did it best? If you think they all suck and no one did it right, plz explain.

THAT would sell Millions, Any game that would take an internal conflict to a literal level has me sold ten copies.

My votes on Ralphie/Trevy

As the game's Named, Akumajo Dracula, not Akumajo 300+ years before Dracula.
Sonia didn't have my vote cause I dislike playing the GB titles, although I do love the soundtracks.

Imma say Gabriel if only because he's the best represented character. The others had little story to them or were just not that interesting.

basically,

Quote
Gabriel makes for an awesome template to establish the clan, he's strong and can probably beat any other Belmont in an arm wrestling match. Maybe not Simon but I digress. He has a cool outfit & his attitude towards creatures of the night is just boss.

this
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

I said that a "Dark Priest Violates" because I can't make a decision.  I'm torn between Gabriel and Leon.  Gabe is a beast in battle was just brutal when it came to finishing off Camilla and Cornell.  Leon, on the other hand, seemed more mature.  He lost someone he loved, but he didn't mope around like Gabe.  He grieved for a little and then killed Walter.  He never lost his humanity what so ever.  They both lost someone they loved, but Leon handled it better.  I like Gabe's brutal way of fighting, but I prefer Leon's mature personality.  I'm really torn and can't decide between the two.

This poll leaves out Christopher, the character originally envisioned to be the progenitor of the Belmonts. It was Dracula's Curse that shoehorned in one before Chris and solidified the idea of the Belmonts' fight being cyclic.

Gabe would come in second because he definitely has the most character out of all the Belmont's.

I actually really liked LOI as a origin story.

And I really like Leon also.

So I voted for Leon.

Although Trevor is still more badass lol.

I voted Ralph (pronounced 'ray-ph' in German) because he is the only one the establishes "The Legend" which I take to be the legend of the Belmont Clan taking down Dracula. Leon & Gabe don't fight Dracula. I like Sonia, but no. Just... no.

My vote is for Leon.

Btw is there some sort of talk regarding Gabriel splitting him self in half or is that just wishful thinking? I'm so out of the loop XD. I admit if that's the case it could be cool if done right. However, I'm not holding my breath.

My vote goes to Sonia. My other choice would've been Ralph (Trevor). I'm not really fond of Leon as he comes across to me as a male version of Sonia.

The reason I am going "UWHAAAAAAAAAAAA?? O_O" at all the Sonia voters:

Don't you realise that if Sonia and Alucard gave birth to Trevor then that means that not only does Trevor becomes 1/4 Vampire, but also that the entire Belmont bloodline after him would be corrupted by Alucard's vampiric blood?  The fact that Alucard remains a "good" Vampire (half-vampire rather) makes little difference, either.  To be good was a decision of his.  But by biology however, he still possesses unholy traits due to what he partly is.  This unholy being would also be passed onto Trevor as well as the rest of the Belmont bloodline, even if the unholiness is lessened with the birth of each Belmont successor.  I mean, okay, I guess it would give somewhat of a humorous explanation as to why the earliest Belmonts succeeding Sonia are unable to swim in games, but... XD

I vote Leon simply because of the story revolving around him.  Especially the creation of Vampire Killer. =D

I voted for Leon but I like Ralph equally as much, they both come across as classic good guy heroes that anyone could like as progenitor to the clan.Sonia's fling with Alucard & it's consequences on the bloodline are about the only issue I have with her & although Gabriel makes a decent Dracula I think he makes a terrible Belmont, he's powerfull sure but everything else about him is pretty dark & miserable - I'm hoping that it's not a hereditary trait should MS choose to bring the clan back.

This was not fair between my favorite belmonts. Trevor and Gabriel are tied for second for me as favorite belmonts and as for Sonia well I just like blonde girls  ;D do not care for Leon all that much he is decent at best not bad but not great as well. But Gabriel takes it for me.

As for Gabriel spliting him self up it sounds so wrong  :-[

Leon was a good "start of it all" guy.  I like the idea of a Crusader becoming a vampire hunter.

Legends didn't explain where the Vampire Killer came from, which Sonia had inherited, so there's still a feeling that there's something that came before her.  She was taught how to handle a whip by her grandfather, so why would he start using a whip if it wasn't for vampire hunting?  Even if Legends isn't cannon to LoI, LoI seems to answer questions like why her grandfather used a whip.
