Richter is stiff and awkward. His walk is too slow, his run is generally too fast in some cases. The walk is so slow it's useless for most every platforming segment you can ever find in the game. Not to mention the complete lack of a double jump, which you practically need all the time for the inverted castle. Which brings us to the moves, especially essential ones like Super Jump, are a little bit on the frustrating side.
It was a neat idea adding him in with all the moves, and some new stuff, but realistically a whole game that played like that would be a little cumbersome. Oh wait; CotM.
CotM fixed a bunch of the issues, such as buttons for essential moves like Super Jump, but it still retained that double tap to run while walking was still ridiculously slow. It sometimes made combat maneuverability an issue when you suddenly lose your momentum and cant really do anything to escape a situation unharmed.
I still love CotM though.
