Iga speaks.  Game ships Nov 1.

http://www.siliconera.com/2011/10/26/otomedius-excellent-lands-in-north-america-next-week/

Yeah, this game totally seems to be the kind of thing they'd never release outside of Japan.  But there's enough Otaku out there to want to play it.  Plus, it'd be such a waste not to play a game featuring some characters from franchises from series you might care about.

I'm only getting it for Kokoro Belmont and Hanafuuma Gesshi.  I would appreciate it if they actually had a Castlevania based stage in it.  Don't know how far I'll get into the game, as I'm not that interested in side shooters, but I have dabbled in Gradius ReBirth a little.  I'll be getting the artbook for any related Castlevania art and any additional backstory they might add in for Kokoro (I hear she might be Julius' sister or daughter and thinks she's the reincarnation of Simon Belmont, I gotta confirm if that's the case), but the pillow case is a bit much for me.

Kiyuhito posted on the Castlevania Wiki that Michiru Yamane posted on her MichiruDiary that she wrote a song in Otomedius Excellent.  He speculates that it could be the DLC "Kokoro BGM Pack".  Maybe we'll get a good CV tune out of this game?  Or maybe it'll just be a wacky thing, who knows.

Because a (non-canon?) Belmont is in the game. :P
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.
^^
You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

Would have rather saw a real Gradius game and not some anime slut riding on top of an air plane.

Got the game, but Kokoro Belmont character or music DLC isn't available yet.  Oh well, I was at least able to play as Hanafuuma Gesshi, whose inspiration was at least in a Castlevania game (Getsu Fuma).

I'm a bit disappointed at the lack of character profiles from what I can tell.  I can't really tell who any of these characters are or what series they are from.  I was hoping for some background story in the art book, but alas, no.  There at least was a pic of Kokoro in the artbook.  It showed a mildly amusing shot of her ending where:

I really suck at games like this, but fortunately, there seems to be unlimited continues, so I can just blunder my way through the whole game so that I can at least see all the stages.  Probably won't unlock anything cool that way though, oh well.

I guess the BGM Kokoro Belmondo Pack contains a different tune by Michiru Yamane for each level in the game.  Once that'll be out, it'll be fun to at least hear some Castlevania music in the background while playing the game.  (http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/Talk:Otomedius_Excellent)
