Slightly inaccurate, but hey, wouldn't be funny otherwise. :P
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

pretty accurate actually.
  • At the end of LoI, Leon didn't actually return to Mathias to find out the big twist, it was actually revealed by Death after their fight.
  • "Till the end of time"? Dracula was permanently sealed by Julius along with Alucard and a Belnades/Vernandes/Whatever (probably) with the help of a Hakuba priest at 1999. Sure, Big Daddy D later reincarnated as Soma, but the good ending path of the Sorrow duology is most likely the canon one, so yeah, Drac ain't coming back after 1999.
And that's that. I don't wanna derail topic this into a full argument, so I'll just take my leave now.

True, but if Judgement's plot is canon, that means Dracula is sure to rise again later down the line and then late sprials into the Galamoth wars where Dracula becomes the good guy (by comparison)

  • At the end of LoI, Leon didn't actually return to Mathias to find out the big twist, it was actually revealed by Death after their fight.
Death only reveals that he answers to the one who weilds the crimson stone. But Mathias is the one who monologues about his master plan. "returning to Mathias" is a minor nitpick.

Does Leon know about any 1999 prophecies? No. he vowed to hunt Dracula until the end of time, until he is finally defeated.
