heya not sure if anyone here would be interested but just curious, anyone want to do some valmanway runs on chapter 6 hard on HOD? I can nearly solo the darn thing but even then it takes a good ten to fifteen minutes to insure I dont get hit by miscellaneous monsters before I   get to the big bad himself..  so just wondering if anyone else here wants to try a few rounds as I know this is quite the sort after item... ( probably not till next wednesday afternoon though) just give me a msg...

my tag is Patashnikk ( with two Ks)

I would help, but I'm only on the PS3 version of Harmony of Despair. All the best with finding the valmanway.

Though if you do manage to get some really good players, I'd recommend going straight for the valmanway +1 in chapter 10. The normal valmanway is nice for collection sake, but if you're planning to get this for it's broken uses, you might as well go for the upgraded version

I did that for nearly 90 mins with a team one day.  Every single time we just got worthless crap.  Same with Chapter 6.  I have no idea how many hours of grinding I have put into this game, but I just can't seem to get anything that's worth anything.

I'm on PS3.  :(

Kinda funny that the only ones offering to help are the people on the PSN side only  :-\ Guess that can't be helped since the port only came out just recently.

Hmm, might be a good idea to ask there in the HOD gamertag thread instead, since that will be filtered towards the 360 users only. Again, all the best with farming for the valmanway, Patashnik.

Oh Opium, were you wearing the thief rings and ebisu ramient when you were farming? Although it won't guarantee that you'll find anything, but at least it boosts the chances. Currently Im trying to get the Philosophers stone since that's the last thing I need when it comes to important rare drops for characters, fuma grieves to complete the set, and then theres luminus in ch 11 for Shanoa. Once I have these, then all my characters have their best setup equips (well, best setup for my play style at least).

I can't even get a thief ring.  I haven't gotten something new in a very long time, so I kinda gave up.  I got tired of joining team after team where everyone had tons of awesome equipment - except me - and I've put so many hours into the game that it makes me wonder if the people with the cool eqpt have been playing non-stop since the game's release.

I estimate that I've put in about 20 hours of gameplay since I got a new item. That's about 19 hours more than what it takes for me to just get bored with the whole thing.  I could have picked up every single rare item in SotN AND DoS in that amount of time.

Chapter 10 is easy, once you get the elevator glitch out of the way, After you beat retro Dracula go back down the elevator to switch to Luck Gear before you open the chest to raise your chances dramatically.

Well, I haven't played the game non stop, but I have been playing daily. I've probably clocked around 30-40 hours at the most. If ever you're gonna have another crack at it, let me know and I'll help you out. If I wear the thief rings and ebisu ramient, it might be able to help you out with getting those rare items. Long hours is to be expected for farming, but usually its better to work with people that make the ride a little more interesting (probably why I don't solo since the best fun can only be found online).

Certainly the farming is what either what turns off people or helps lengthen the game for others. I'm probably on the later, but I just enjoy playing the game with others  ;D

Retro Dracula is probably the biggest obstacle for those going into the game for the first time. Dodging his fireballs is probably what kills a good amount of new comers. When it comes to increasing the probability of rare drops, it also helps to have others with you, since I've heard that having more people with you improve your chances of finding rare drops.
