Welcome to MarkyJoe1990 and EvilEggoWaffle attempting to beat Dracula X, a castlevania notorious for being really hard.

I new about this game a long time ago and played it, but felt it was a really sub par castlevania. However, after playing through it a few times, my opinion has changed. It's not a perfect catlevania by any means, but it's good and worth a try if you're willing to deal with the intense difficulty.

Here are my attempts at beating the game. In Attempt 1, EvilEggoWaffle (My older brother) chips in and plays the game a bit along with me, but ultimately, we fail to get past stage 2. The attempt is notable for the hilarious petty arguing that goes on between us.

Attempt 2 is me playing the whole time, but with EvilEggoWaffle watching. This attempt is notable for simply being really dang hilarious, especially after I make a mistake in stage 3 that causes an enormous irrational response that EvilEggoWaffle refuses to let me live down. Unfortunately, we don't make it past stage 6.

The final, winning attempt, has yet to be uploaded, but it has already been recorded.

I hope you guys enjoy our lovely shenanigans.

Attempt #1: MJ1990 & EEW Commentary: Dracula X [Attempt #1]
Attempt #2: MJ1990 & EEW Commentary: Dracula X [Attempt #2]
Winning Attempt: MJ1990 & EEW Commentary: Dracula X [Winning Attempt]

................ one of these days I am actually going to have to put up a play thru of me beating castlevania I, II, III, IV, X, Rondo, and adventure rebirth... WITHOUT losing a life. Just to show you guys how it's REALLY done.  ;D Not sure about the x68000 version  though; unless I use the herb, doing a one life run on that one would take some practice (I haven't played it much compared to the others I mentioned; though I DO love it). I can promise that there won't be audio though; not really my style to be chatting away throughout a vid.  8)

Still it's good to see people throwing some playthru's up and having fun with it!

haha I laughed my ass off at the commentary, and I had plenty of those moments where I fell down only to have to redo tediously placed enemies. I might actually make a playthrough.

I can top that. I can beat some of those games without taking a single hit. I did badly in the video mainly cause I hadn't practiced the game, and I was too busy being flustered by my older brother to play well. x.x

There's two things I expect when I sit down to watch playthrough videos like these.

1.  The player should be reasonably competent.
2.  The player should STFU so I can enjoy the soundtrack.

Then you should go watch ShadowSerg's videos if you hate casual LPs that much, I believe he has started to upload No Damage/Subweapons stage runs.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.
^^
You are now reading this in Robert Belgrade's voice.

Then Lords of Shadow 2 just takes a big, semi-solid, smelly, pea-green dump all over everything.

I prefer being casual about my commentaries in general. In real life, I'm a very uptight, stoic person, and use commentary time as a sort of outlet for my inner wild side. That said, there are times when I just want to prove to people that I'm incredibly bad ass. That or I have a lot of time on my hands.

So yeah. Not all of my stuff is gonna appeal to you. I usually prefer to display more skill in my LPs, which is why I don't consider these videos such.

Looks pretty good guys, and much agreed with you that keeping the commentary casual does make for funnier commentary. Gez, I'll need to post up my group's playthrough, you've already got 2 more than us, haha.

Funny enough, the playthroughs you've posted don't clash with ours at all (got the original 2 and 3 coming up)  :P Now I just need to get cracking on recording after the exams are over.

Anyways, looking forward to see your other videos when I have time xD All the best with your recording

Aye thanks.

By the way, since Esco put the idea in my head unintentionally, I've been attempting to beat Castlevania: Rondo of Blood without taking any hits, and by going through all the special stages in the game. The furthest I've gotten so far is stage 6. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have succeeded in doing the playthrough. Wish me luck~

As for Dracula X, I don't know when I'll get off my ass to upload the winning attempt. It wasn't that good in terms of commentary (Though, maybe my memory is hazy).

Haha, I see. I rarely do get through a stage without getting hit, mostly because Im reckless when it comes to that. All the best with getting through without getting hit, one of these days I'll have to try and do the same (Though that might not happen, there's a lot of games to play right now).

Im looking forward to seeing the complete playthrough of Dracula X (just finished watching your first attempt, and I enjoyed it quite a bit). Commentaries have their hits and misses, most important thing is to just have fun with it. Though from what I can see, you don't need me to tell you that  :P

I on the other hand need to man up and start recording 2 and 3. With 2 my only concern is that I take too long through the game. With 3... need I say much on that? Oi, there's gonna be a lot of editing to do...
Again, all the best with your recordings

The winning attempt is finally up after so much procrastination.

And thus another chapter in Dracula X has concluded. All that's left to do is show off the stages that weren't shown in the videos, rescue Annette, and show the best ending.

How could you forget to mention Bloodlines? It's also a classicvania.

Good thing he convinced you to post the earlier attempts, they were definitely amusing.

Out of all three videos, I think Attempt #2 was the most amusing. Gay ass mother fuckers will never get old~
