Ok this is kind of a long shot, what about a 2.5D HD remake of Castlevania Bloodlines on both portables, with all new 3D HD enviroments, Classic game unloackable, as well as the Classic tunes for use in the game, same concept as DXC, they could add possibly other unlockables, im just firing an idea to the public. cause I felt it was strange it was the only classic vania not added on the wii's virtual console, SOTN i consider modern due to RPG elements, but this version of castlevania hasnt reared its head since its original release, and I think a re-release or remake is in order

everyones thoughts and comments?

ugh please no more remakes. although i think bloodlines was a pretty good game and it deserves more recognition, but the idea of a remake in itself is bad, because we know how lazy the guys at Konami are when it comes to making CV games. It's just another way they found to make easy money, without making too much effort to come up with something good and somewhat new.

I'd forget about using the 3DS and Vita, and just put the 2.5D Bloodlines remake on the PS3 and XBOX 360 consoles. I would like to see an updated version of Bloodlines since the Genesis hardware didn't do the game itself enough justice to top SCV4. But I liked the Bloodlines story and the game-play itself. A 2.5D remake on a modern console would even allow this game to surpass the DXC graphically. And who knows? Maybe we would get some extra stages in there too since there are a lot of interesting European places to explore that were not available in Bloodlines.

Tho its confirmed IGA does have the dev kit for 3DS, He has mentioned possibly remaking castlevania 3, i just dont remember where I heard it, if it was rumour or not, id have to agree tho, CV1 got countless remakes, CV 2 and CV3 were just plain ignored

I heard the "IGA has the 3DS dev kit" news too, quite a while back. It's somewhat unfortunate that they haven't announced if anything's happening with that though. The first DS Castlevania was announced pretty soon after the DS' release if I recall. The 3DS' shakey start may have given them pause if there isn't some other issue.

That would be awsome, I'd say no castlevania announced for it yet, due to Konami is busy with Metal Gear for it, thats my only thoery, they dont want to divide resources

Castlevania's and MGS's team are completely separated, Kojima Productions almost is a separate entity from Konami with its own schedule and the decisions are made by Kojima and not Konami's CEOs, they are attached only in a bussiness point for what I've read. CV is an internal developed game.

Or it was, we don't know how much of influence KojiPro has in Castlevania since LoS (Did they secure the rights to the series for themselves? both timelines? only the new one?) and the situations could be then, indeed, influenced by MGS development since KojiPro is the one dividiong resources now, but until we know the thruth about that, we could only assume CV (or the old series at least) is not attached to KojiPro Schedule

I'd go for a 3DS game for sure.

Although there isn't much more room in the timeline for it, I'd love seeing a semi-linear (ala OoE) 2.5D game with a new Belmont who is reacting to some actual vampire outbreak in wherever-land that may or may not have anything to do with the Count. You'd progress through the game getting moderately significant upgrades with reasonable customization, though not to the equipment farming and hording extent of most of the Metroidvanias, throughout. After all, a Belmont's best friend is the Vampire Killer.

You could even utilize the 3D technology by implementing changing perspectives throughout levels or during boss encounters. In tandem with using the touch screen to give the whip extra utility in particular situations (i.e. swinging from objects, deflecting projectiles, manipulating enemies) I think it could be really cool. I've always wanted a Castlevania game that gives you a real feel that, yes, Relevant Belmont is a master of the whip, and as such gives you an extra level of control over the weapon.
