Oh yeah, capcom is on the ball!

RE is trying to be the next Megaman.

Only thing is that True fans will only be playing Revelations (because its like, y'know RE).

Does anyone else miss the 90's where games were distinctively different?
Where everything DOESN'T have to be a First or Third person shooter.

Add the 80's on top of that and you got the good ol' days where

A) [80's] All action games had to be a side-scroller beat-em-up and/or platformer
B) [90's] The game had to be 3D in order to be considered "not primitive"

:P

Reviving this dead topic and double posting to bring you...

The new story trailer to RE6!

http://youtu.be/ASWBc_z8iik

Things to note:

-Ada Wong has been confirmed to be in the game.
-The "Ashley/Sherry girl" has been confirmed to indeed be Sherry Birkin.
-"Starkiller/Steve" has been confirmed to be a new(?) character named Jake Muller, who is the son of Albert Wesker.
-The "bitch" that Chris was referring to in the previous trailer was Ada Wong.
-Beards Nevence's name was retranslated into Piers Nivans.
-The game's release date was lifted from November 20, 2012 to October 2, 2012.

New trailer looks neat. What do you all think?

Game looks pretty. I'm kind of sad there isn't a character named Beards, because it'd be a perfect match with all the explosions.

Every other Captivate thing was kind of meh. DmC's trailer was entertaining for keeping the cheese of the other games and not taking itself SUPER CEREAL like I thought it was going to, but I have yet to see any detailed gameplay impressions or videos, which is worrying. It seems like the entirety of its promotion has been empty boasting and chest puffing without any concrete details to back it up.

The game's graphics ARE gorgeous. Some of the best I've seen, too.
I got so pissed when I found out they were naming him Piers instead of Beards...

DmC looks pretty damn awesome, if you ask me. Naked Dante was a bit much, but still.

I've already purchased Revelations and Operation Raccoon city. Looks like I gotta keep my eye out for this one too  :)

So... anyone play the demo for this game yet (the few of you that bought Dragon's Dogma for Xbox 360)? I think it's ridiculously fun. You get a little part of each of the three campaigns in the game.

Leon/Helena's demo is pretty slow and focuses on the horror elements of the scenario. While it is great, it's probably the most boring part of the demo, since you literally do nothing but walk for 90% of it. Enemies don't show up until the very last room, and as soon as you enter the next door, the demo ends.

Chris/Pier's demo focus on the action and shooting aspects of the game. It is definitely the most fun part of the demo. With all the bullets and the explosions and BOWs, it's very hectic and the only one of the three that shows the splitting up.

Jake/Sherry's demo focuses around a boss fight, and lemme say, it's pretty awesome. It starts off with you running away from the boss, and after getting away from him, you fight off a couple of infected Mercs, only to have a showdown with him in a warehouse. Jake's hand-to-hand fighting is definitely awesome.

Thought I'd share that with ya'll. Anyone else play it yet?

I really don't mind RE having this format of play. It's much easier for me then the older style of play. If the original RE games used the movement controls that were in Silent Hill then they'd be a little easier to navigate, instead of having to turn to a specific direction and then pushing up on the pad to move forward all the time.

The healthbar is split in boxes and you only can regenerate the health of that box and its slow enough to not be that relevant. Try again.

regenerating heath no matter how slow and non relevant it may be is just a flat out dumb thing for a game that is "supposedly" a Survival horror or "dramatic horror" as Capcom calls it now.

Its just something that never should have a place in a Resident Evil game if you ask me.

Really does take away the "horror" aspect when you not only have powerful weapons, overpowered melee moves,a partner, and regenerating heath.

Seems like they are purposely trying to make this game as none horror oriented as they possibly can if you ask me.

You have six health boxes, and health only regenerates for one box. It's very slow, and you're highly likely to take more damage in the time it takes for the box to regenerate half-way.

As well, there are several less healing items from what I've played. Same goes for ammo (at least in Leon's part of the demo, but he only fights like... two enemies).

You have pretty standard weapons (mind you, the demo is automatically set at easy difficulty), the melee moves are balanced by a stamina gauge (unlike in ORC), your partner is about as useful as in RE5, and I already talked about the health.

As for the horror orientation, Leon's campaign offered a jump scare or two. Chris' employed the "holy crap, what do I do now?" tactic, and Jake's employed the "holy shit he's after me" tactic.

As I said before, each scenario focuses around a different feel. Leon's around the horror, Chris' around the action, and Jake's around the thrill and tension.

Sorry but NONE of what you said has eased my concerns.

As I said earlier, it does not matter (to me at least) how slow and small the regenerative heath thing is, the fact that its even there in the first place rubs me the wrong way as a longtime Resident Evil fan.

And it really does not matter if the partner is as useful as they where in RE5, having a partner there period really does ease the tension since you have someone there to back you up.

The same thing applied to RE5 and I am sure it will apply here as well.

The only Resident Evil game that pulled the whole partner thing off correctly was RE0 and that was because a lot of times in the game you partner could actually be LEFT behind or you 2 would become separated and you would have to play a good deal of the game yourself.

And the weapons are hardly "standard" during Chris's part of the game.

But whatever, this is all my opinion/concerns on the matter and sadly it will not be changed until I actually get my hands on this game.
