Took the poll as well, tried to be constructive in regards to Lords 2.

When I win that iPad, I will command your all's allegiance.

I don't agree with Konami putting their poll on Facebook. By doing this they aren't reaching the whole internet community ie people who don't use Facebook. I don't use Facebook myself so there's no way for me to contribute to the poll even though I'd like to.

It's just a link on their Facebook wall. You don't need to have Facebook to see or use the poll.

lol Not gonna happen

Why do you say that?  Every single CV fan I know personally HATES los.  It pretty much split the fanbase in two pieces, with the bigger piece giving a thumbs-down.
In fact, I thought everyone hated it until I saw a few here who liked it.

Oyy... hate is a strong word to use. more like "didn't live up to [certain] expectations."

No one here really hates it (at least I don't); a lot of ppls opinions here range from "meh.. decent" to "good, well done," and the remaining 1% saying "excellent, best CV game to date!"

I think I went a little overboard on the "why did LoS not fulfill all of your expectations" part of the survey.

Just finished.

I certainly don't hate LoS, I was definitely disappointed with it and voiced my displeasure like everyone else did, but it was probably one of 2010's best games. I kind of regret selling my copy, but then I remember how much I really didn't like the QTE's and the general likeness to God of War.

The sequel has plenty of room for possible improvement, and things like this will hopefully help it become a much more enjoyable and universally appreciated title.

I know the only way I'll have an Apple product in my house is if I win one (I dislike the damn things)...
...but I do agree that the poll tries to catch what the fans' biggest concerns are, as well as what fans hold in high regard.

In the paragraph part of why it didn't live up to my expectations, I had to keep trimming to make the limit.  I filled the damn thing.
Still, it's a good game.  Just not that Castlevania-ish.

Your last phrase is just what I said there. A good action game, but it's not Castlevania.

Theres a difference.

"Not that Castlevania-ish" is not the same as "Not Castlevania"

Yes hate is a strong word - that's precisely why I use it often.  It's so useful.

But anyways, I think that negative feelings about los can be really strong because there's the element of being let-down.  There's excitement building up to the release date of the game.  You got your calendar marked and the game already reserved/paid for.  You run to the store to get it just as they open - and BAM!  Shitty game.  It can make one very bitter.  Just look at Other M.  I would never have recognized los as a castlevania game if the word castlevania was not in the title. It seems like a dirty trick to use the name of the franchise to make cv fans go out and buy a game, only to figure out very quickly that they've been had.

I'm not trying to debate, just saying what I think about it.  I understand that other people don't see it the same way, and neither view is right or wrong.  It's just different opinions.

I'm happy that they're asking these questions. (Some of them were awkwardly worded. Like the name what you associate with LoS--the 5 "most important" things. Well, the things we associate it with may not be good, so I'm not sure if that part helps or hurts). Regardless, like Jorge, I had to trim a lot. Anyway, even if they keep the LoS story, I hope it causes them to change the approach to this interpretation of CV in gameplay and motif. I know they put a lot of effort into LoS, and their hearts seemed to be in the right place, but somewhere along the way it seemed they missed the mark on making a Castlevania game.

I think they got so focused on making a "good game" they forgot to make it a "good CASTLEVANIA game".
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.
