Although I didn't think the survey covered everything, I enjoyed it. It was kind of nice to feel constructive with criticism for once, while letting them know which aspects of the game were enjoyable.

...I just hope they take heed to my suggestions and add more macaroni and cheese into the sequel.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

I'm suprised they are even holding this poll. Despite the Castlevania Dungeon housing a lot of haterz, I don't think any of those complaints ever reached the LoS team. I guess it remains to be seen if anything is going to change at all with the sequel.

I basically told them to make the sequel more like Carmilla's castle and cut down on the high fantasy aspect.

Filled it out. Gave them my honest opinion. My only regret was that there was no room for me to tell them that Dark Souls was more Castlevania for me than LoS was.

I would never have recognized los as a castlevania game if the word castlevania was not in the title.
It's funny that you said this, because when the very first teaser for the game was unveiled, when LOS was just "Lords of Shadow", everyone said: "WOW, it looks like Castlevania!!".

At that point, nothing was announced about the game... it wasn't even Castlevania yet (and sorry, I don't buy the "it was supposed to be Castlevania since start" talk. That's bullshit.). I tought it was related to Castlevania too. The character even looked similar to Simon.

Unfortunatly, Konami has their fingers in their ears yelling "La la la la la Lords of Shadow 2 is coming out next year la la la la la!"

I remember someone posted a link in the LoS megathread about the original trailer and the reactions were pretty much that. Can't seem to find it though.

Whew! done. After looking for the link on the Facebook site I filled it all out. I had just enough room to fully express my concerns about the game. One small step, but an important step none-the-less.

I've always found funny how people not wanting something they desire that thing to not exist. I mean; the old games are still there; LOS didn't wipe all of previous games from existence; don't like it? fine! but don't act like it shouldn't exist... and  know what.. it does now! and it came to stay and I really like how Konami is trying to acknowledge fan concerns to make it a better product for everyone. Few examples of a company doing that come to my mind but one of them is Mass Effect 2. you all know how it turned out.. One of the best games EVER. Hope MS is listening carefully but not messing up with what was right in the first place (variety of locales epic feel and stuff)

Just be happy we're still getting Castlevania games period.

Capcom has fucked over and completely trolled megaman fans.

Happily Konami want to make series profitable and popular once more, so they don't care about opinion of some old gamers.

I find more sad than funny.
I mean for some people the mere existence of something they don't like under the name of their favorite franchise, is just like a fucking horrible crime that render the rest of the series invalid or something. It's stupid, I think.
By that logic practically any old series must be an object of hatred by its own fans because they've done few things that some part of them disliked...wait... :'(

Ok...the Simon Belmont prototype footage, which obviously preceded the Lords of Shadow, looked identical to the final product. It even had the same castle...the same ghouls...the whip was the same as the Combat Cross.
The main difference was the hero was Simon instead of Gabriel.

Given that the aforementioned footage preceded the teaser with Gabriel wielding that same looking whip, it would make zero since for Konami to simultaneously develop a relaunch of Castlevania and another unrelated yet identical-looking game called "Lords of Shadow."

I dunno, they almost did so with Silent Hill 4. It was supposed to be a completely new horror series before making it part of Silent Hill partially through development.

If the franchise isnt profitable, it doesnt get any new games. LoS is on the path to making Castlevania profitable again, and bringing it back into public consciousness again so that it stays that way.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

Why do you say that?  Every single CV fan I know personally HATES los.  It pretty much split the fanbase in two pieces, with the bigger piece giving a thumbs-down.
In fact, I thought everyone hated it until I saw a few here who liked it.

Well, it is the best-selling recent game, so I think people who have problems with it are actually in the minority.

I'm sort of in the middle of the road on it. What really got to me were the quotes from Cox saying that lower than 8 review scores just don't "get" Castlevania. Give me a fucking break. I know the game is his and MS's baby, so it does kind of suck to hear people rag on it, but c'mon, no game is perfect. There is always room for improvement.
