Goonies 'R' Good Enough in 8-bit (VRC6)

Since it was composed with Castlevania III's soundfont and whatnot.

The Goonies game series is a bit of an enigma for me. We have the movie and the game Goonies II, but we don't have the first game...why is that? Did Konami get stingy with it in terms of finance? Was it due to movie rights during that time? Or did they think the first game was a bad idea and left it abroad while the sequel received the go-ahead because it was much better? I don't know really. I liked the movie and it was a nice (though a little cheesy in some parts) mystery romp in a quiet sea-side town with a privateer-esque past. I also enjoyed the comedic parts as well  :) If anything the movie was a better mystery flick the say the Scoobie-Doo movies.

There was a goonies 1... it was just not for the nes. :) The goonies II nes game was kind of intended as a sequel to the movie since an actual movie sequel was (at the time) not planned to be made.  8)

Heh, I remember the first Goonies game at one of the arcades in my hometown. It was on those red, 2-sided, sit-down Nintendo machines (they had a few rows of them at the arcade, I think). I sucked at that game.  :)
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

I ripped the sprites for that game (Goonies 1) and upped them to Spriters-Resource.

I'll send that vid to one of my buddies. He loves "Good Enough" and the Goonies and even visited Astoria. I still have yet to go there.
