What AR cards came with the game? Were they all different? I got Pit, Paletuna, Medusa Queen of the Underworld, Twinbellows the Fierce or something, Mik, and something of the Orbitars. The first three cards seemed kinda, I dunno, like they would be there in all the games.

What did/do you print out the AR cards on?

Did you guys get the "3D Classic: Kid Icarus" off of the Gamestop store?  I think it's only $5 or $7.
You buy it and get a Downloadable Code.  You input it into your 3DS and you get a 3D version of the NES Kid Icarus, akin to what they did with Kirby's Adventure, Excitebike, Xevious and Twinbee.

It's the Famicom version, ported to English, so it's got SAVES!
That makes it a touch cooler than the NES version (which relied on password).
On top of that, they have touched up the backgrounds, so now it's like a cool retro not-quite-8bit-anymore game.

THEY SHOULD DO THIS WITH CASTLEVANIA DAMMITALL!!!!

Just beat the nes version on my wii and to tell the truth I cannot see what gave me trouble all thses years. I only got killed by a boss once(the first one) before facing medusa and after figuring out her pattern after two deaths it all made to much sense(do not rush, take it slow). Overall I like kid icarus and I feel good after beating the game after all these years :)

Also maybe nintendo/konami did are planning to do this one day did the not have a 3d version at E3?

Come on now this was going to happen eventually  :P

WHAT AR CARDS DID YOU GUYS GET?!

I swear, looking at my cards, it doesn't seem like they were randomized much at all. I mean, I got 1, 2, 3, I think 8, 19 and 23 or something. I mean, they all seemed like pretty common cards. Pit, Paletuna, Medusa, Twinbellows the Fierce, Mik and Palentar Orbitars. All seem like cthey'd be really common cards. Hell, it's even in sequence!

I tried so hard to pick a good box to get a good random drawing.

So the only thing different was your weapon.

Wow. Seems really random to me. So where the hell did all those AR cards on that site come from? How do you get more AR cards? I heard on a video review about booster packs but I ahven't seen squat around here.

I swear I get so damned lucky vs Dark Lord Gaol. Went on Intensity 6.0 against him using Artillery Claws (with +1 Poison......). Poison is the worst ability ever, I swear. Unless it's against enemies that you're trying to Idol Capture or enemies that defend themselves often. And in air, claws are shit I swear (liked my +1 Shot Defense Hewdraw club though! Cricket, anyone?) But went up against Gaol. Magnus died apparently (cuz next thing I know I see Gaol coming after me and nobody attacking him. Don't know if Gaol can't be poisoned or what, but he got me down to like 1 or 2 HP and I was like, "Well shit there go my hearts!" and then next thing I know I'm staring at a naked woman in body armor. I was like, "WTF I won?!?!"

Got a +4 Burning Gaol Blade from one of the chests in his stage. :D BURN BABY BURN!

I've never gone past intensity 5.5, and that's at the first two stages.  I don't know how people do it!
However, my fave weapon is the Palms and the Orbitars.  I have an awesome palm with like 300 attack power, rawrgh.

I've gottne through intensity 6 on the first two levels. I was working on Intensity 7 on Chapter 3 when my battery started flashing so i had to puase for the night. Twinbellows is understandably easy. I find Gaol much harder than Hewdraw, at least in higher intensities. Hewdraw just stays in the lake and fires lasers. Gaol rushes you and that's usually what gets me killed.

A decent club and Counter against Twinbellows is a cakewalk.

Still haven't beaten the Reaper level. The first time through I got killed by the Clubarm or whatever it's called. The second time through I touched the Orne because it was floating over my treasure. :(

Edit: I got my ass kicked on Int.7 Chapter 3. That damn ring that you jump into and have to fight an onslaught of enemies keeps getting me killed when that totem thing appears. So I ended at Int. 6 :(

Level 4.0 Gaol with 3 Magic Lasers. Dead dead dead. It freaking rapes him.

And Self Injury might really suck, but when it's on my only Sonic Cannon, I can deal with it at Int. 4. Thank god for the Hot Spring. Don't think you can beat a full level with Self Injury without one of those things around. But the Sonic Cannon is so powerful.

Oh as for how people do higher levels, I think they get a good club. I almost fused a club with 4 Stars in Range, but a club is better as Melee cuz the range takes forever. And if you haven't figured it out, clubs can deflect bullets.

What is an Orne?

I tried googling "Orne" to see what the story is behind the Orne in KIU. The Kid Icarus wiki just says it's some enemy that appears in KIU which for whatever reason has its own 8-bit theme.

Orne was the surname of a prodigious bloodline in the Cthulhu Mythos. First appearing (I think) in "The Case Of Charles Dexter Ward" and later in "The Shadow Over Innsmouth", the most famous Orne, or Ornes as the case may be, was (were?) Simon Orne and his "son" Jedediah, who many suspected were somehow in actuality one in the same due to some sorcery. One of Simon's descendants, Benjamin Orne, married Captain Obed Marsh's daughter in Innsmouth whose daughter Eliza Orne inherited a mysterious set of jewelry from her Innsmouth ancestors.

But I think most intriguing for me was this sigil used by the Finnish metal band by the same name. Don't know if it actually appeared in one of the Necronomicons, but compare the sigil to the KIU enemy's design.

As for the history of the word, Lovecraft might have made it up, or it means "boar" (Dutch), "ash (tree)" (French?), or just "tree" (Tolkien elvish).
