Chronicles IS a remake of the original Castlevania
Technically, AK68K / CVC is the only proper remake of original Castlevania outthere. Other games, like Haunted Castle and SCV4, were merely based on the same premise, but aside from some references here and there they didn't had much in common with NES Castlevania.

Casual Castlevania fans probably haven’t heard of Dracula X or Rondo of Blood. Many songs you know from Symphony originated in these games.
Wait, what?!  :o
Aside form that, there are too much oddities about that list to comment. At least for my taste.

I was also called n00b (even though I've played video games since approx 1988) or a fanboy each time I liked a game (regardless of console). It was a fun job for a while but the readers... oh dear.
Then, I guess, we both now why and how I feel about certain people in fandoms.  ;D

Am I the only one who disagrees with number 1? As much as I enjoyed SoTN, that game really doesn't require as much skill as CV 1 and III.

I used to trust GameInformer, but as of late their so-called "reviews" have made me done nothing but facepalm. This list just throws all their credibility out the window. Wow.

I'm with ya. I like SotN but it's not the best.

I disagree with this ranking. Some games deserve a better place (CoD, AoS for instance) while other deserve lower places (SotN, I'm looking at you).

No, but I don't have much of a problem with it, I guess. Personally, I'd have chosen CVIII, but SotN being #1 is understandable too.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

I am agree, but personally, I'd nominated SCV4 for the first place.

I like sotn more than I dislike it, but I am a classicvania kind of boy and Dracula's curse made me a gamer today so yeah go figure it's also odd that the one I like has Alucard in it as well. Also if I were to make a top 10 I can surely say that SOTN would not even be in my top 10.

Also Gummi I think all reviewers like ign, gametraliers, ect all have their crappy reviews, but everynow and then there is a good one, but till then it is a good time killer.

Yeah, I think games like CV I, III, and SC IV are more worthy of the number 1 spot. I guess the only reason GameInformer put SoTN was merely for the fact that it changed the series' direction and was critically acclaimed. But like others, I always say original(s) is best.
