MJ1990 Post-Production Commentary: Ghosts N Goblins (No-Death Run)

I hate this game, so instead of throwing it out in a trash bin, I decide to show it whose boss.

How about finishing the Cv4 no hit small whip challenge first.

That has got to be easier than beating G&G with no deaths.

G&G is a game designed by sadists if you ask me.

I haven't felt like doing it. And it's WAY harder to do than a No death run in Ghosts n Goblins.

Don't worry. i'll get back to them, and since you reminded me of them, I'm actually recording some right now.

It's a shame you and your buddy didn't narrate this on a live play through. I think it would have been funny as s**t  ;D

You mean my older brother EvilEggoWaffle?

I would have done live commentary on it, but lately I've been in an absolutely horrible mood, and that tends to translate into my live commentary.

I'll never understand why some people consider the NES Ghosts N Goblins harder than the arcade or PS1/Saturn/PS2/PSP ports. The NES one is a glitch filled mess, the arcade one has it's share of glitches too, but they don't seem as bad (including being able to skip the second dragon boss later in the game via a trick of going left as the boss music starts, make sure you don't "see" the dragon as then the trick won't work). I played the arcade GnG just this past week, got to stage 5 in 1 credit, wasn't even close to finishing it though as you must do 2 loops for the Happy End (first time I've seen a machine for it in over a decade and a half). Then the game continuously loops after that. Enemies seem to swarm you much faster and more often in the other versions, not so much in the NES or GBC versions.

To this day GnG NES remains in my collection, but I'll play the Saturn or PS1 ports long before the NES one.

Don't forget about the SNES version. That one was a real b***h to play through and I can't even begin to describe the words coming out of my mouth while playing through that one. Yes, I was using a game genie. And No, it wasn't helping me.

As much as I love them, to this day, I have never... NEVER... been able to finish any iteration of Ghosts N Goblins or it's successors without resorting to an infinite life hack. I have tried, but I just cannot beat those games legit. I am a failure of a gamer.  :-[
