Greetings,

My name is David Westerlund. As some of you may know, I'm the guy who created Castlevania The Concert. After lurking about for a while I have decided to officially join this forum to be able to communicate with fellow Castlevania-fans. Actually I've been visiting the Castlevania Dungeon for many many years, ever since the early days of the Internet if memory serves, so this must be one of the earliest websites dedicated to Castlevania.

I am an old school gamer at heart and have beaten nearly every major Castlevania title and I'm just possessed by the games and the music and love to discuss them.

Looking forward to making new acquaintances!

Congratulations on an awesome concert.
It was quite memorable, as people are still talking about it.

I heard Yamashita made a recorded appearance to thank fans to be played during the concert, but it only got put up on the event website after the fact. That's unfortunate to hear. It was the only issue I had with that concert.

I did enjoy hearing music from Belmont's Revenge, though. Not enough love given to that game.

Thanks for all the kind words!

Actually the Yamashita video message wasn't planed for the concert (we didn't have a videoscreen), it was just for the website and YT. She's really great, I mean just imagine, she wrote Wicked Child! For sure we would all have a small empty space in our hearts without its existence. I know I would *humming it*

Välkommen hördudu! (missade konserten vilket jag fortfarande har grav ångest över. Vet inte om folk blir arga om man skriver på svenska här, så jag övergår till engelska, hehe)

Sorry about that everyone! I basically said welcome and some other secret stuff! :D

My favorite Castlevania song for sure.

Dunno anything about this concert though, so guess I'll have to look into it if there's anyplace that has it recorded.

It's all over Youtube, but there are no official recorded tunes (SADLY).
They did stuff like "Chandeliers" with a true pipe organ, which was awesomesauce.
And they did lots of other stuff.  I believe Michiru Yamane showed up to the concert and played a little "Wood Carving Partita" with them (she made a few mistakes but that's OK). :P

Yes, Yamane-san was kind enough to fly all the way from Japan to the icy cold Sweden to perform for the fans. She is a great pianist, the only problem with "Wood Carving Partita" is that it was played on a harpsichord, which is very different from a piano. I couldn't play it on that instrument either! But she played the grand piano for her brand new arrangement of "Waltz of the Pearls" from SOTN ("Dance of Pales" in the west), and it was just absolutely perfect. Having her there and performing her own music from SOTN was just unreal.

That concert was awesome. I just wish there was a better recording than that one guy did.

How did you organize such a thing? How did you get Yamane to show up anyway?

Any chance of another performance, or 'sequel' concert?

Well it wasn't easy for sure, and I couldn't have done it alone. But the process isn't very exciting actually, pretty much like any job where you work in an office, just calling and emailing people all day long, having meetings etc. Working on the music is the part I like the most.

A sequel is in the works, a whole world tour actually, so pretty soon everyone can hear the haunted melodies of the best game series ever.

I wish the concert will be held somewhere near the Netherlands sometime, but unfortunately there are not a lot of Castlevania fans where I live, I think.
