Will there be another 2D Castlevania game anytime soon or is Konami going to continue producing only 3D?  Thanks.

Yes, in fact Konami just announced an all-new 2D game that's sprite-based like "metroidvania," due out next year. Here is the link for more info/screenshots.

We can only wait and see when Mercury Steam's tenure with Castlevania ends with Lords of Shadow 2.
