I wonder how Konami chooses developers to outsource to? It seems so random at times. While I'm not the biggest fan of LoS, it's shockingly good compared to the things Mercury Steam had done in the past. How come Konami approached them at all? Also, I wonder if they only outsource to small, lesser known developers to keep their own costs down? I mean, Rocksteady, while not the biggest company in the world, would probably demand more than Mercury Steam because they've already seen a fair bit of success. Dunno. I don't know anything about these things so I'm just speculating.
Konami also picked Vatra Games to make Silent Hill: Downpour, and before that they did Rush'n'Attack: Ex-Patriot. I'm surprised Konami gave Vatra a shot at the Silent Hill series when Ex-Patriot was universally panned. Meanwhile, WayForward did an excellent job on Contra 4, but they were never asked to make more Konami games (from what I recall).
