Wow, the forum allows some long a** sentences on the Subject-field!  ;D

I'm pimping with my 3DS-XL, so all of the classic games look extra crispy!

Lately I've been enjoying such games as Zelda II/NES, beat CV:Adventure/GB via 'abusing' the save-state function (22-years in the making, people! ;D), obviously the original Mega Man/NES+GB and Toki Tori/GBC. And Donkey Kong '94/GB! That game stands the test of time best IMO! Gotta love Gargoyles Quest/GB, too!

Are you spending your doll3r on the #classic games @3DS? Please share! :)

Edit: Also got the Mystical Ninja starring Goemon game on the GB. Haven't played it much, is this good enough to waste some serious effort into?

Something funny I encountered playing Zelda II after 24 long years: Entering a cave south of Ruto and facing a red Goriya for the first time.

This is literally after the first palace, but I kept on dying and hit an FAQ...

I did indeed really suck, so thanks FAQ!  ;D

Punch Out would make so much sense in 3D classics format.

3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure, and since I was an early adopter of the 3DS I also received Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (among other AGB titles).

Fun Fact; I was on the debug team at NOA for Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, so it's kind of nostalgic for me to play through it again.

Mostly GB games: Gargoyle's Quest, Bionic Commando, Game Boy Donkey Kong, etc.

I've posted about this here a couple times before, but I love playing GB games on my 3DS XL when holding down Start and Select at startup. Shows 'em in original res mode and it looks really sharp while retaining the dimensions of a Game Boy screen. My only problem with 'em on the original 3DS was the games were too small in original res but too blurry when blown up. Still pretty blurry on the XL, so I love to play 'em original res 'cos it's sharp AND big.

Who needs a 3DS when one already has these games on real consoles?  ;D

Will try this tonite, baybe! So thanks! :D

Who needs a 3DS when one already has these games on real consoles?  ;D Many might prefer the telly, tho.

Well, true! But if you want to pay to play these games again, 3DS XL is the best way to go imo.

GB games on the 3DS experience a lot less ghosting. That's reason enough for me to rebuy some games I already own the carts for (so far Gargoyle's Quest and The Castlevania Adventure, gonna get Metroid II eventually).

Ghosting? Are you still playing them on a regular Gameboy? I don't get any ghosting on the GBA SP, Super Gameboy or GCN Gameboy player.

Edit: Also got the Mystical Ninja starring Goemon game on the GB. Haven't played it much, is this good enough to waste some serious effort into?

Yes I do have it and let me tell you onething. This game is hard and I do not think it's by design choice it is just over all unfair. There is a reason why the thing only has three stars I think out of five and that is because it is so unfair  that it's almost broken? But it seems konami knows this.

Let me give you a run down of how a level goes. It's overhead like zelda, but instead of going to towns and stuff just think as being in dungeons for the whole game shops and inns. You can power your weapon and  get money by opening chests.

The graphics I think are actually very good in my opinion Goemon looks like goemon, saskue look like him self, and Ebisumaru is ebisu. For the characters think mario bros two in the sense that one has different stats like goemon is the middle guy saskue is the fast guy and ebisu is the big guy. Now the part that has many people downvoting it: the boss battles. I will tell you right now if most people do not get past the first level of this game something is wrong.

There is a difference between hard and cheap and these boss battles are cheap in the sense that if you were playing the original verson it would be downright impossible and here are the reasons: one the second hale of the boss battle. At first the boss battle is like anyother battle but when you beat the boss it goes into minigame mode and if you do not know the trick that konami made you will not even beat the first level no matterhow much you try. the first boss will challenge you to a race while the second boss will make you have a tug-o-war. When you get to this part hold down the r button and A button to get turbo because if you do not do this your done for the first two levels.

Level three is not that bad IIRC it was a game where you need to step on the panels to show your character portrait, fourth I cannot remember and the final boss is so cheap that you need superhuman reflexes to beat him the only tip I have is this: one do not get hit what so ever on his first form, abuse the heck out of that save future (his game was made for it) as his second form gets way to fast doing this hit and save technique is the only way to beat this boss and game.

So in the end is it worth it, hmm it's your choice I like the game but I really wonder why the developers made this game like that it baffles me to no end I give it a three out of five. I have told you how to play the game and beat it because there is no other way.

Boss battle minigames are nothing new, Marvel Land from Namco back in 1989 got away with this. The boss battles were nothing but minigames save for the last boss, who you would face off against in traditional battle.
