After Simon's Quest there seems to be another game taking place every 50 years or so (OoE is unclear, but following the trend I'd say it's probably mid-1800s), and 3 times in a 50 year period between Bram Stoker's novel, Bloodlines, and PoR.

The early years are much, much less cluttered, with at least 1 full 100 year resurrection (Belmont's Revenge to the original Castlevania), and ~97 years between Curse of Darkness and The Adventure. Though, personally, I'd like to keep it this way.  It would be pretty disappointing if the "every 100 years he has a full resurrection" thing never happened.  Though I've never been clear on if the 100 year cycle still brings him to full power even if it's been interrupted by premature resurrections.

Either way, my guess is they'd probably stick to the 1800s, maybe use the premature resurrections and lack of full power as an excuse of sorts for how non-Belmonts seem to be doing just as well against Dracula as many Belmonts did (Well, and almost all of them so far had help.  And the vampire killer ritual.).

If we're going Dracula-less side stories, then there are a ton of opportunities.  I don't know how others feel about it, but I wouldn't mind a side story explaining what the Belmonts were doing in their 200 years without the whip. Though I think I'd be happy just to have a new game.

id like to see more about the Belmonts between LoI and Dracula's Curse, tracking down Mathias and establishing themselves as Vampire Hunters.
Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

I hope that LOS2 ends on a high note and that Castlevania moves on beyond it.
Hopefully a new dev team will take on Castlevania and stick closer to the source material in the next reboot.

I also hope that LOS2 ends this particular saga on a high note. Still, I don't mind Kojima Productions and Mercury Stream stepping away from the Castlevania source material. While I would like to see the return of 2D Metroidvania style gameplay and a similar tone to boot, I'm impressed by the current change in direction.

Meh, I didn't think any character pics would be large enough to make out as my avatar. I actually had Alucard up there but then immediately changed it because it looked like a smudge of mud.

Oh man, I totally forgot about the Weiss Belmont song. It was dumb as hell but it still made me grin.

there ya go  :)

unfortunately there's no decent pics of Christopher. No one [professionally] has bothered to draw a proper version of him (aside from shitty manual illustrations & boxart). There's the Belmont Legacy comic version, but I feel that artstyle clashes with Castlevania's for being too, for lack of a better term, generic. They updated his sprite for Adventure ReBirth, they could've at least gave us new artwork as well  >:(
Chris is always getting shafted, even in the LoS timeline  :(

Speaking of Christopher Belmont and particular events we'd like to see... If I were to head up a Castlevania game (dude, that would be so awesome!) it would star Soleiyu Belmont. It would also deal a lot with how he was mind controlled. Soleiyu would have an intense hatred of Dracula, more so than any other Belmont, other than perhaps Leon. Weirdly enough, and I just thought of this a couple days ago, but I'd also like it to have a good love story with Soleiyu... but not with a normal woman. Some kind of servant of Dracula... maybe a Succubus or a Vampire. About mid game, the player would fight Dracula in his throne room traditional style, but would be forced to lose, and the Dracula servant would save Soleiyu's life somehow. I would write Dracula with a somewhat haughty and taunting personality, similar to his Rondo of Blood self, which would go along with his trolling of Soleiyu.

The final battle with Dracula would be more like Belmont's Revenge, taking place on a series of platforms, but way flashier. I was brainstorming all kinds of ideas while zoning out to this video from my boy Dracula9:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZYEsFBackQ

... And you know I would bring back that path with kneeling skeletons as well as Road of Enemy #2.

A relationship with demonic beings who canonically become evil and gradually lose their human conscience, radically altering their minds?

Im supposing you had something like Rosa in mind, but those relationships never end well. Not to mention the afforementioned problem with it that LoI introduced.

Well, not all demons/monsters/vampires in the CV-verse are evil since I can list several who aren't.

On that note, it would be cool if they would make a Castlevania RPG where you could recruit demons in your party just like in Persona/Devil Summoner. I could already imagine a lot of enemies from the series that you could use in battle: Succubus, Imp, Pazuzu, etc. I could think of many more. They could also give all the monsters unique little personalities: Imp would constantly be giving wisecrack remarks, Succubus would be a gleeful sadist and a bit of a narcissist etc.

And this should be the battle music:

[Top 100 RPG Battle Themes] #68 - Devil Summoner

But that would be too awesome.

Castlevania: I'm hoping to finish at least one CV fan game between now and October. I have no faith left that Konami is going to make anything I want to play and actually release it here in the states. I'm looking at you, Castlevania the Arcade.

Personal: I'm hoping to find a nice goth/fetish chick who can put up with my near lack of a social presence on account of I have to spend most of my time working on my company. Beyond that, I hope to end 2013 with my company becoming at least moderately profitable so that I can quit working for other people by 2014. Of course I believe more in intent then hope so these are the things I'm going to make happen.

Give Castlevania to Fromsoft or Platinum Games.

Bring back Michiru Yamane
